Here's some scoop on Friday Night Lights from this week's (Posted on 5/21/14) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Got any updates on the Friday Night Lights movie? —Dan
Ausiello: Still not happening, and that suits Taylor Kitsch just fine. “I think everyone knows where I stand on that,” he told us at the aforementioned Normal Heart event. “We ended it the right way.” Kitsch confirmed that the script (penned by Jason Katims) included Riggins, but added, “I don’t think it was a big part.”

Friday Night Lights: An update on the possibility of a movie from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on Friday Night Lights from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat for Thursday 4/18/13.

Belinda: SO many TV reunions happening! What happened with the Friday Night Lives movie?
We just talked to Aimee Teegarden for an update on the FNL movie, and here is what she had to say: "As far as a script and as far as when and where and how, I don't necessarily know," she told our own Marc Malkin at the Call Me Crazy premiere. "But Veronica Mars got some kickstarter funding, and so that's happening. And Arrested Development [is back]. So I wouldn't say it's too far off!" For the record, Teegarden would jump at the chance to reprise the role of Julie Taylor. "It would be awesome to work with that cast again," she said.

Parenthood: Sarah, Mark, Hank, Amber and Ryan related scoop from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Parenthood from this week's (Posted on 10/16/12) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I’m loving Ray Romano’s character Hank on Parenthood. It feels like they finally found a great match for Sarah. Any news on what will happen in the wake of their kiss? —Caia
Ausiello: In the short term, their smooch may be good news for Mark of all people. “I think it made her resolve a little stronger to try to keep her life on the track that she planned and hoped for, and finally looked like she was about to achieve,” muses Lauren Graham. And in the long-term? “We still don’t know what’s going to happen — nor does [series creator Jason Katims],” she maintains. “[He] kind of adjusts as things go along and picks up on the threads that are interesting to him, more than they maybe do on most shows…. So the line I’m trying to play is confusion, and it’s justifiably confusing what’s happening.”

Question: I love this season of Parenthood! It seemed like in the last episode Matt Lauria’s character Ryan had a special connection with Amber. Are we going to see more of that?!—Christine
Ausiello: Oh, yes. That special connection is about to morph into a full-blown romance. Lauria, meanwhile, tells us he’s on board for at least 10 episodes — an arc it sounds like he’d be happy to see extended ever further. “They gave me this amazing gift of playing this part that’s taken me to new depths as an artist and has made me a much more compassionate human being,” the Friday Night Lights vet raves. “I’m on board.”

Friday Night Lights: Update on the movie from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on the Friday Night Lights movie from this week's (Posted on 8/7/12) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: What’s the latest on the Friday Night Lights movie? —Tony
Ausiello: Houston Dillon, we have a script! “I’m just doing a little tweaking to it,” reports Katims. “A million things have to come together, but we’re hoping to if everybody is on board with doing it we’re hoping to find a time for everybody’s schedule to shoot it. It’s definitely something we’re trying to make happen.” Meanwhile, the pic’s leading lady, Connie Britton, is still waiting for someone to send her said script. “I haven’t seen it yet,” the star of ABC’s upcoming Nashville tells me. “I do know that they have one and they’re all really excited about it.” My prediction: The FNL film will go into production next spring.

Parenthood: Matt Lauria Lands Recurring Guest-Star Role In Season 4-TVLine

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, Matt Lauria has been cast in a recurring guest-star role in season 4 of Parenthood. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some scoop on Lauria's role:

Lauria, whose post-FNL roles have included Fox’s cop drama Chicago Code and an arc on CSI, will play a returning soldier from Afghanistan who bonds with fellow war vet Zeek (Craig T. Nelson).

Coincidentally, Lauria’s FNL character, Luke, enlisted in the army in the show’s series finale.

This brings to six the number of FNL actors Katims has brought on to Parenthood. In addition to Lauria, Minka Kelly, Michael B. Jordan, Derek Phillips, Angela Rawna and Jeff Rosick have also appeared on the show.

Parenthood kicks off its fourth season on Sept. 11.

My thoughts: This casting news sounds very interesting to me personally, because one of my biggest complaints that I used to have about Parenthood was that I felt like the writers often neglected to give Craig T. Nelson and Bonnie Bedelia a decent amount of screentime and good material to work with on the show. I feel like the writers really did a good job of rectifying that last season and finally gave them the amount of screen time and material that they deserve. If this casting news is any indication, it sounds like the writers are going to continue to give them some good material to work with and a decent amount of screen time time in season 4.

Grey’s Anatomy Exclusive: FNL MVP Gaius Charles Joins Season 9 Cast as [Spoiler]-TVLine

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, Gaius Charles has joined the cast of Grey's Anatomy in a recurring guest-star role for season 9. Here's an excerpt from the article:

The details regarding Charles’ character are still being worked out, but it stands to reason that he will be playing a young doctor at  Seattle Grace — a hospital reeling from at least two major staff departures.

To say Charles’ TV career is on fire at the moment is an understatement. After spending several years out of the spotlight to focus on college, the actor re-entered the TV scene with back-to-back guest stints on ABC’s short-lived Pan-Am and CBS juggernaut NCIS. Last month, he returned to the football field via a major arc on USA Network’s Necessary Roughness.

Charles’ casting continues Grey’s boss Shonda Rhimes’ love affair with Friday Night Lights. Other FNL stars who have passed through Seattle Grace’s hallowed halls include  Kyle Chandler, Jesse Plemmons and Zach Gilford.

My thoughts: I'm not familiar with Gaius Charles as an actor, so I can't really comment on his acting right now, but as for what I think about the cast of Grey's Anatomy for season 9, I hope to god that Chyler Leigh and Kim Raver are the only actors who will be leaving the show for now. I hope the reason that the show is in the process of casting several recurring guest-star roles right now isn't because they are preparing for more cast members leaving the show and that these additions to the cast are only for storyline purposes. I don't think that I can handle having more of my favorite actors/characters leave the show for the time being.

TVLine Exclusive: The Secret Circle Recruits Friday Night Lights' Grey Damon for Some Dark Magic

The Secret Circle has found its newest witchy hunk.

Former Friday Night Lights footballer Grey Damon is joining The CW’s freshman series in the potentially recurring role of Lee Labeque, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Lee, who first appears in Episode 10, is a sexy and mysterious twentysomething grifter type with a lot of confidence — and knowledge. He claims to come from Santeria heritage and runs an occult Botanica in the suburbs. He’s got a hint of danger about him, so it’s no surprise that resident bad girl Faye takes an interest in the guy and the dark side of magic in which he dabbles. Hmm, sounds like Faye is up to no good — what else is new? — maybe even trying to get her solo powers back.

In addition to FNL, Damon starred on ABC Family’s recently axed The Nine Lives of Chloe King.
