Franklin and Bash: Casting related scoop on two new series regular roles for season 4 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on Franklin and Bash from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 1/17/14.

Maggie: Franklin and Bash is my favorite show. There, I said it. Now what can you tell me about the new season?
Look for two new faces when Franklin and Bash returns to TNT this summer. The show is currently casting two series regular roles. First up, there's Dan Mundy, the socially inept investigator who just so happens to be a cyber genius. There will be a new attorney at the firm too, Anita, described as a girl who can hold her own with the boys and has a great sense of humor.

Just got done watching Breckin Meyer on The Talk

I just got done watching Breckin Meyer on The Talk, and I have to say, he’s a really sweet, funny guy. I love him on Franklin & Bash, which is an extremely underrated TV show, if you ask me me. I don’t watch The Talk very often, but I’m so glad that I happened to catch Breckin’s appearance on the show. It was really fun watching him interact with all the women on the show. Breckin really is a truly sweet, funny guy, who’s also incredibly cute if you ask me. It’s no surprise that I’ve had a crush on him ever since he was in the movie Clueless. :)

Franklin & Bash: Scoop on the possibility of Rob Lowe appearing on the show from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Franklin & Bash from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich's weekly column Matt's Inside Line for the week of 7/11/13.

Over the past few weeks on Franklin & Bash, Rob Lowe’s name has been dropped more often than F-bombs on HBO. Any idea if the man will make an appearance as himself on the show? –Anthony
Somehow I, too, missed this news, but apparently the rivalry between Franklin, Bash and Rob Lowe will literally come to a head when the Parks and Recreation star pops up in the Aug. 14 season finale.

Franklin & Bash: Peter related scoop on season 3 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on Franklin & Bash from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat for Tuesday 3/5/13.

Kevin: You guys never have any scoop on Franklin & Bash, which is one of my favorite shows.
Rectifying the situation in 3...2...1: Peter's mom is coming back! Yes, Jane Seymour will return as Colleen Bash, but it's not exactly a great situation as she is being put on trial for prostitution. Nope, we're not joking, but there is more to the story.

Franklin & Bash: Heather Locklear joins the cast as a series regular

HEATHER-LOCKLEAR

According to Entertainment Weekly's James Hibberd, Heather Locklear is joining the cast of the TNT series, Franklin & Bash, as a series regular for its' upcoming third season, which returns this summer. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some scoop on Locklear's role:

The sexy TV veteran will play Rachel King, “a stunning trial lawyer, with stiletto heels and clothes tailored within an inch of their life.” King comes on board as a new partner at Jared Franklin (Breckin Meyer) and Peter Bash’s (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) law firm, making life more interesting.

My thoughts: I just got into watching Franklin & Bash in the past year, and I have to say that I think it's a really fun and very underrated show. If anyone who happens to be reading this post hasn't watched the show before, I strongly recommend that they check out. I think it's kind of weird that James Hibberd referred to Franklin & Bash as a drama in the original article, because the show is much more comedic and lighthearted than it is dramatic, if you ask me. The lighthearted and comedic nature of Franklin & Bash is one of the things that I love the most about the show. As for the news about Heather Locklear joining the cast as a series regular, I'm really excited about that because I loved her on both the original Melrose Place and the CW network's sequel series Melrose Place. It will be very fun to see her on Franklin & Bash show when season three starts.

Ausiello: Yes! Beauvais says space issues led to her departure. “There was no more room for the character,” she explains of her powerhouse legal eagle, Hannah. “I think they did everything they could with that story and now it leaves me to go and explore. I am so excited about it.”

Here's some scoop on Franklin & Bash from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column for the week of 8/3/12.

I’d love anything on Franklin & Bash. Finale scoop? Or even a tease for the next time MPG gets naked? — Katie
Take a cold shower, Katie. And when you’re out, check out this: A secret kept by Stanton leads our favorite lawyer duo to reconsider their loyalties in the season finale. Meanwhile, guest star Chris Klein is ever Chris Klein-y in this episode as he takes on the role of a scandal-plagued gubernatorial candidate who also happens to be Peter’s old friend.  (Chris Klein-y adj. Highly amusing in a I-sort-of-want-to-punch-you way.)

Casting Scoop: Franklin & Bash Tap Kevin Nealon and Martin Mull as Guest Stars in Second Season-E! Online

Franklin and Bash, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Breckin Meyer; Kevin Nealon, Martin Mull

Kevin Nealon and Martin Mull, will you please approach the bench?

TNT's Franklin & Bash have called up two incredible comedic vets to guest star in their upcoming second season, and we've got all the exclusive details on their roles. Plus, we were just on set to chat with Kevin Nealon about his gig, so maybe we'll just let him tell you all about it…

Nealon will play Larry Reynolds, the chief council of a large beverage company, who's also a big party guy. Here's hoping we get some superb drunk-acting from the SNL vet.

Mull, most recently seen on Two and a Half Men, will play Judge Flannigan, who is subjected to Peter (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Jared's (Breckin Meyer) most recent, outlandish court escapade: a death-defying water-tank stunt.

But the biggest scoop we got from our set visit? Nealon is certain his career will be over after his Franklin & Bash stint. "After this episode airs, I think that I will probably be kicked out of Hollywood," he tells us. "It's not that it's a bad show; it's a great show. The acting is superb from the background players, but not so much from the A-team, the primaries if that's what they're called. But you know they mean well, that's the beauty of it—they mean well, but sometimes that's not enough."

OK, he's kidding. But we were kind of hoping to start a feud between Nealon, Meyer and Gosselaar.

Franklin & Bash returns to TNT next summer.

Franklin & Bash Season 2 Casting News--Jane Seymour, Peter Weller-TVLine

TNT’s Franklin & Bash is courting guest stars galore as it ramps up production on Season 2.

For one, TVLine has learned that Jane Seymour, a Golden Globe winner during her six-season shift as Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (as well as for the TV mini East of Eden), will visit the legal dramedy as the freewheeling, indecisive Earth Mom of Mark Paul Gosselaar’s Peter Bash.

We can also report that Peter Weller (aka Robocop) is set to guest-star in an episode as a reclusive rock star whose estranged son is being evicted from a Hollywood music club he created. In that same episode, 14-time Emmy nominee Beau Bridges (Brothers & Sisters, The Closer) will reprise his role of Leonard Franklin as Jared faces off against his father in the courtroom.

Seymour’s recent TV credits include an episode of Castle and Hallmark’s series of Dear Prudence movies, while Weller appeared in a Season 5 arc on Dexter and a December 2010 episode of Psych.

Franklin & Bash‘s sophomore run will launch sometime in the summer of 2012.
