The Killing: Scoop on the aftermath of Bullet's death in season 4 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on The Killing from this week's (Posted on 7/1/14) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Any juicy scoop about Season 4 of The Killing? —Katrina
Ausiello: Bullet (played by Bex Taylor-Klaus) may be gone, but she will not be forgotten when the six-episode final season drops on Netflix on Aug. 1. According to series creator Veena Sud, the teen’s Season 3 death will continue to haunt Holder. “That was a game-changer in terms of Holder’s life,” she explains. “Up until that point, he was a homicide detective who had not lost anything in the course of his work. So now he’s kind of walking through that crucible that Linden has walked through, that many homicide detectives have walked through.” Sud promises that there will be “a final moment” that will honor the Bullet-Holder relationship. In other Killing news, did you read/see this?!

Oh, yes. The Carrie Diaries/The Killing alumna is very much a part of the show.

The Killing: Linden related scoop on season 4 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on The Killing from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 12/18/13.

Adam: Now that we know the season's big mystery, do you have any other The Killing scoop?
How about some mama drama? Look for Linden's mom to pop up. Yep, the woman who abandoned her as a child. The two are completely different, but she's still got the mother's intuition when it comes to Linden.

The Killing: Seward related scoop from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez

Here's some scoop on The Killing from Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez's The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 7/25/13.

Sandra, I can’t tell you how sad I am that Bullet is dead on The Killing. Like, still weeping. Any scoop on what comes next? — Rae
Well, for Peter Sarsgaard’s death row inmate Seward, the future is definitely murky. And the actor tells us that the anxiety is definitely overwhelming his character as we approach the final episodes. “Probably right now in the show he’s not sure whether he wants to live or die. The thing is with that character is whether or not he’s innocent or guilty, he believes he’s guilty fundamentally in his soul, and I think that he has a lot of distance and hatred toward the rest of the world because of his position in it,” he says. “And I think the only person who’s been able to reach him is Mirelle’s character. So that’s his only connection in the whole world at the moment and he’s just hoping that she’ll show up.”

The Killing: Scoop on episode 3x10 "Six Minutes" from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on The Killing from this week's (Posted on 7/23/13) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: OK, there’s only two episodes left of The Killing‘s third season. Can you tell us if the killer is Becker, Henderson, Reddick or somebody totally out of left field? (It’s Becker, right?) —Murray
Ausiello: Oh, Murray, spilling the identity of the culprit in a serialized crime drama breaks Rule No. 2,714 of The Spoiler Code. But I can give you three clues about Sunday’s very intense “Six Minutes.” 1) All the action takes place inside the prison where Seward is awaiting his death sentence. 2) Holder shows up with a case of beer in his car. 3) The pas de deux between Linden and Seward covers almost every color in the gamut of human emotions. (Yes, have your Kleenex handy.)

Chicago Fire: Casts Michelle Forbes in Season 2-TVLine

Chicago Fire Season 2 Cast Michelle Forbes

According to TVLine's Vlada Gelman, Michelle Forbes has been cast in a recurring guest-star role for season 2 of Chicago Fire. Here's an excerpt from the original article, which gives some details on Forbes' role:

The Killing alumna has booked a recurring role on Season 2 of the NBC drama as a high-ranking consultant with the State Fire Marshal’s office, TVLine has learned.

The actress’ character, Gail McLeod, is in charge of monitoring budgets and performance at the city’s fire houses. That may spell trouble for the men and women at 51, which is definitely under her microscope.

My thoughts: I've seen Michelle Forbes on a lot of TV shows over the years, namely Battlestar Galactica, Lost, True Blood and The Killing, and I personally think she's a very talented actress. I'm very confident that she'll do a great job on Chicago Fire. Chicago Fire ended up becoming one of my favorite new TV shows last year, so it's definitely great to finally get some news about what will be happening in season 2. If you aren't already watching Chicago Fire, I strongly recommend that you check the show out immediately.

Here's some scoop on The Killing from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat for Thursday 4/25/13.

Andy in Indiana: The wait for new episodes of The Killing is killing me! Get it? Spoilers, please!
Oh, your wit astounds us. Check out your first look at the new season via this creepy photo AMC recently released. Season three will find Linden and Holder reuniting to search for a runaway girl that leads them to string of gruesome murders. And as they dig deeper, Linden discovers that there is a connection to an old murder investigation she was in charge of. And we've probably said this before, but it bears repeating: The case will be solved by the end of the 10 episodes.

The Killing: Scoop on the plot of season 3 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on The Killing from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat for Tuesday 4/2/13.

Emilee: Could not be more excited about The Killing coming back from the dead! Any more info on the new season?
Why, yes! We have the official synopsis for season three right here: "Season three begins one year after the close of the 'Rosie Larsen' case (the focus of the series' first two seasons) with Sarah Linden no longer working as a detective. But when her ex-partner Stephen Holder's search for a runaway girl leads him to discover a gruesome string of murders that connects to a previous murder investigation by Linden, she is drawn back into the life she thought she'd left behind." Intriguing, no?

The Killing: Casting related scoop on season 3 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos

Here's some scoop on The Killing from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat for Monday 2/11/13.

Seth: Any scoop on what to expect from The Killing when it returns?
Holder has a new partner! Meet Carl Reddick, who is a career cop with a pretty good record. Not one to rough anyone's feathers or lose sleep over the cases he doesn't solve (so basically the polar opposite of Linden), this newbie will be recurring throughout the third season.

Deception: NBC has come up with another copycat TV show, but it has potential (My thoughts on episode 1x01 “Pilot”)

Usually I only like to review shows that are currently on the air, but considering the fact I’m taking some time to reflect on the series as a whole before I post my review of the series finale of Gossip Girl and most of the shows that I typically like to comment on are currently on a break, I’ve decided to take the time to write a review for the pilot of Deception; that being said, here are my thoughts on the pilot.

The main thing that I found myself thinking about as I was watching the pilot was that the show is seriously lacking originality in a lot of ways, and I say this because I thought of at least four different shows that I’ve already seen before as I was watching the pilot. Those shows would be Revenge, Dirty Sexy Money, The Killing and Desperate Housewives. I know that some people might think that I’m being a bit random with some of the shows that I just listed, but those are simply several of the shows that the pilot of Deception reminded me of in some way. I’ll try to explain what elements of the pilot made me think of those shows as I discuss certain elements of the show in my review.

Let me go right ahead and say that while the pilot didn’t seem all that original to me, there were still enough things about it to make me want to continue watching Deception once it premieres on TV. The main thing that I like about Deception is that it features several actors that I’ve seen in other things and like, namely Victor Garber and Tate Donovan. The cast also consists of Wes Brown and Ella Rae Peck, both of whom I’m familiar with, but have mixed feelings about after watching the pilot. Wes Brown guest-starred in five episodes of 90210 at the beginning of its fifth and current season. I didn’t really like him on 90210, but that was pretty much because of the character he played, but Wes Brown and his character, Julian Bowers, ended up being one of my favorite things about the pilot, especially when it came to his scenes with Meagan Good, who plays the protagonist of the show, Joanna Locasto.

I’ve never seen Meagan Good in anything prior to this show, and I don’t remember hearing of her before either, but I really liked her in the pilot. In terms of her acting, she doesn’t come across as being on the same level of amazingness as Sally Field, but I still think she did a great job in the pilot, and I’m confidant she will continue to a great job on the show in the future. Here’s a brief side note: Sally Field is my favorite actress, and she has been my favorite actress ever since I saw her in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire when I was six years old. For those of you who might not already know, I’m currently twenty-five years old, but I digress.

Personally, I thought the pilot did a great job of setting up the characters and storylines. There are definitely several potentially interesting storylines based on what I saw. Although, the pilot definitely felt a little rushed in my opinion. Given the fact that this is only the first episode, I think I can forgive the writers for making the episode feel too rushed though. After all, a pilot of a TV show is supposed to do a lot of things. It’s supposed set up the storylines and the characters on the show, so networks can decide whether or not it has potential to be a good show and should be picked up to series. Not only does a pilot have to do that for the network, it basically has to do the same thing for the viewers at home too once it premieres on TV. That being said, I’m okay with TV shows being fast paced, because if they move too slow then the viewers can get bored and lose interest, causing them to stop watching. The writers really need to be careful about how fast the storylines move on Deception beyond this episode though, otherwise they could be completely out of ideas halfway through season two at the rate the story moved in the pilot, assuming that Deception does well enough in the ratings to be renewed for a second season.

The Killing: Cancelled by AMC-TVLine

the killing cancelled

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, AMC has canceled The Killing after two seasons. Here's an excerpt from the article:

“After much deliberation, we’ve come to the difficult decision not to renew The Killing for a third season,” said the network in a statement. “AMC is incredibly proud of the show and is fortunate to have worked with such a talented team on this project, from showrunner Veena Sud and our terrific partners at Fox Television Studios to the talented, dedicated crew and exceptional cast.”

The series, based on a Danish TV whodunit called Forbrydelsen, debuted to critical acclaim. The first season earned Emmy nominations for stars Mireille Enos, who played a detective investigating Rosie’s killing, and Michelle Forbes, who portrayed the dead girl’s mother. But when the Season 1 finale came and went without any resolution to the murder mystery, fans and critics alike made their displeasure known – and the drama never recovered.

The show’s Season 2 finale drew 1.5 million viewers, down 17 percent from the premiere and down 35 percent from the final episode of its freshman year. Critical support, too, seriously dropped in the second season. (At least we found out who killed Rosie.)

My thoughts: Despite the fact that I did like The Killing, I'm honestly not really upset at all about the fact that it has been canceled, because at least the viewers were able to find out who killed Rosie before it was canceled. Plus, while I enjoyed watching the show it wasn't exactly high quality TV, if you ask me. I feel like Veena Sud shot the show in the foot so to speak when she decided to not reveal who killed Rosie Larsen in the first season and waited until the season 2 finale to reveal the identity of Rosie's killer. Hopefully, Veena Sud will learn from working on The Killing that she shouldn't string viewers along for two whole seasons before she delivers the big pay-off of a storyline. Also, I hope that she'll also learn to do a better job of developing the characters on her shows if she ever creates another TV series in the future.

The Killing: Scoop on a possible season 3 renewal from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on The Killing from this week's (Posted on 6/12/12) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I love The Killing but I have yet to hear if the show is being renewed. Any word if we will get a Season 3? —Katie
Ausiello: No official word, but given the decline in ratings and buzz this season, I think a renewal is about as likely as Linden going an hour without a piece of gum or a cig.
