Once Upon a Time: Two Frozen Characters Cast for Season 4

According to TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich, newcomer Elizabeth Lail has been cast as Anna, Elsa's younger sister, for Once Upon a Time's upcoming fourth season. Scott Michael Foster has been cast as Kristoff, while the role of Elsa hasn't been cast yet. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on Lail and Foster's roles:

Once‘s Anna is described as a fun-loving, fearless optimist who often gets herself into situations where she is in over her head, yet is able to triumph due to her resourcefulness and can-do spirit. She values her relationship with her sister Elsa above all else.

Kristoff meanwhile is a hearty, salt-of-the-earth ice cutter whose sometimes-gruff demeanor can hide his deep love for Anna and her sister Elsa. When we first meet him on Once, he is adjusting to life at the castle — including sleeping indoors for the first time in his life.

My thoughts: As I discussed in my review of the season 3 finale (My thoughts on episode 3x21 “Snow Drifts” and episode 3x22 “There's No Place Like Home”), I wasn't happy at all that the show was going to be incorporating characters from Frozen into the show, mostly because I think the movie is too new for them to be featuring it on the show. I feel like the creators deciding to do that strongly implies that they don't really have a long-term plan for the show and that they're just making things up as they go along. I also hadn't seen Frozen yet at that point in time, but I've seen the movie since then, and I absolutely loved it.

I'll admit that I've warmed up to the fact that the show will be incorporating elements from Frozen into the show a little bit, but I'm still not all that crazy about the whole thing. That being said, the fact that Scott Michael Foster has been cast as Kristoff has gotten me a little bit more excited about the show doing Frozen. I've been a huge fan of Scott's ever since he was on Greek, and both he as an actor and his character Cappie were always two of my favorite things about the show. Honestly, I think he kind of looks like the way Kristoff looked the movie. I'm sure that Scott will do a great job of playing the role. As for Elizabeth Lail being cast as Anna, I've never even heard of her until now, so I can't really comment on that casting news.

Now that April's BFF Beth quit her job at the coffeehouse, she will go to work for Nora Kirkpatrick (best known to Greek pledges as Panhellenic's tough president Katherine) in the second half of the season. Fortunately for Beth, Kirkpatrick's character isn't as much of a hard-ass this time around.  Although executive producer Patrick Sean Smith wouldn't say too much about Beth's new gig, he did hint that it has something to do with design. "[Beth] has a very special, distinct style," he says.

The Office: Ending After Season 9, All Questions Answered-TVLine

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, Greg Daniel's has announced that The Office's upcoming ninth season will also be its last. Greg Daniel's also have the following spoilers in the article:



Daniels also revealed that…

* The Scranton Strangler will be unmasked.

* The final season will be a “big” one for Jim and Pam. “There’s a lot of drama [for them],” he teased. “The story is definitely not over for them.”

* “Daryl will learn PowerPoint,” he shared.

* John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson and Ed Helms will enter the final season as producers.

* The news has no impact on the possible Dwight-centric spin-off The Farm, which will be introduced in an episode of The Office to air this fall.

My thoughts: Personally, I think that it's definitely the right decision to have season nine be The Office's final season, because in my mind the show has definitely run its course. In a way, it's rather impressive that The Office will have lasted nine seasons once it ends. Given how low the show's ratings were in its first season, I always thought it was a miracle that it even got a second season. The show definitely had to prove itself ratings wise in season two since it started out with a short episode order of six episodes, if I remember correctly, but the show's episode order for season two slowly got bigger as the show's ratings increased and became more successful.

Out of all these spoilers, I'm really excited that they will be revealing the identity of the Scranton Strangler in the final season, because I always liked that ongoing storyline being mentioned from time to time. I for one am excited that Catherine Tate has been made a series regular for the final season, because I've always loved the character Nellie. I know that there are a lot of people who don't like the character though. I'm also excited about Clark Duke and Jake Lacy are both joining the cast as series regulars since I'm a fan of the both of them, especially Clark Duke. I've been a huge fan of his ever since he was on Greek. All in all, I'm really looking forward to season nine of The Office.

Revenge: Greek Goddess Joins Season 2 Cast—Is She Nolan's New Love?-TVLine

My thoughts: I loved Dilshad Vadsaria on Greek and her character, Rebecca Logan, was always one of my favorite characters on the show, so I'm really excited that she's going to be on Revenge. I would love it if she ends up playing a love interest for Nolan since he's one of my favorite characters on the show. I'd also love to see Nolan get a male love interest at some point too though since he's bisexual and there aren't very many good male bisexual characters on TV. That being said, I can't wait for season 2 of Revenge to start, because Revenge is one of my top favorite TV shows.

The Office Exclusive: Greek's Clark Duke In Talks to Join Season 9 Cast Amid Mini-Reboot-TVLine

Details on his character are few and far between, but this much is known: he would be working at (duh) Dunder Mifflin. (If his alter ego is half as entertaining as the sexually inappropriate assistant he played on New Girl last season we’re all in).

My thoughts: Clark Duke played one of my favorite characters on ABC Family's Greek, so it will be interesting to see how he fits into the cast of The Office. Although, as much as I love the show, I think it's time for The Office to come to an end. With all of the cast and behind the scenes changes, it doesn't feel like the show it used to be when I loved it the most. I think that NBC really needs to stop prolonging The Office's run and just let it end already.

When we hit the set Grammer explained the eerie storyline: "A group of us lab techs find out that one of our own has been murdered and it’s in relation to this 1957 murder. So, it’s very exciting.” Grammer gushed saying it was a complete coincidence to meet up with her former costar. "It was one of those fated things. How weird is that?" It's a ZBZ/Kappa Tau murder party, ya'll!

Greek creator Patrick Sean Smith is taking his special brand of young adult angst global.

Smith is developing an hour-long drama/adventure series for Fox set in the world of young international travelers.

The working title: Wanderlust.

Imagine TV, the purveyor of such acclaimed dramas as Friday Night Lights, Felicity, 24 and Parenthood, is producing with 20th Century Fox.

Prior to creating ABC Family’s long-running Greek, Smith served as a writer on the late, great Everwood.

Greek's Scott Michael Foster Teases Melissa & Joey Romance, Possible Parenthood Return-TVLine

Cappie is back! Greek alum Scott Michael Foster makes his triumphant return to ABC Family this Wednesday at 8/7c — only instead of romancing co-eds, he’s swooning over Melissa Joan Hart on Melissa & Joey.


TVLine spoke with the actor about his latest comedic gig, the possibility of a Parenthood encore, and what he really thought about Greek‘s emotional series finale.



TVLINE | Tell us about the young lover you’re playing on Melissa & Joey.
Melissa meets [my character] George at a small business association get-together. He’s a young designer with a bunch of ideas that he goes to her with, and they quickly hit it off. They start dating and he’s much younger than her, so she fibs about her age. Somewhere in the middle of their tryst, Melissa has to tell him how old she really is and is worried that he’ll care, but he ends up not caring at all because at that point he really likes her.

TVLINE | But you’re only signed on for three episodes, so how does it all wrap up? Any chance you’ll return?
It ends in a sweet way, and George could definitely come back. At least I think so. [Laughs]

TVLINE | What’s the dynamic between George and Joey, given the latter’s vested interest in Melissa?
Joey’s hard on him for being so young, but George actually goes to him for some sound business advice. He also gets a little advice about dating Melissa. And that’s the extent of their involvement with each other.

TVLINE | Greek certainly had tons of comedic clout, but it was so different than the multi-cam/live audience vibe that Melissa & Joey has to offer. Was that part of the allure?
I’d never done multiple episodes of a multi-cam show, so when ABC Family came to me about this role, I wanted to be able to do an arc in that format. I took the job and it turned out to be a really amazing experience. And I would definitely do it again.

TVLINE | You’re not the first actor to tell me that. It’s no secret that the multi-cam format isn’t the most modern, but everyone says it’s the most fun.
It really is, because it’s the closest thing to doing a play. It’s instant feedback and it’s fun. Single-camera stuff doesn’t offer that instant gratification.

TVLINE | Talk a little about the Greek finale. What did you think of the way things came to an end?
No one knew if Season 3 would be our last — and we definitely didn’t want it to end the way it would have if it had been. So when ABC Family gave us a Season 4, we were so happy to be able to wrap up all the storylines. I’m grateful for the last season and what we got to do.

TVLINE | And what about your dramatic turn on Parenthood this past spring? It seems like that storyline opposite Mae Whitman may have run its course. Might we see you again?
You know, I ended up working with some of the crew of Parenthood again this year [on a different project] and they were all asking if I was coming back, too… but I don’t know. There’s definitely an opportunity for that character to return, but I’m not sure if he will or not.
