Looking: Scoop on the wrap-up special for the show from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

https://walter.trakt.us/images/seasons/000/062/434/posters/thumb/60e16e176c.jpg

Here's some scoop on the Looking wrap-up special from this week's (Posted on 10/13/15) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Any scoop on the Looking wrap-up movie special? —Delanda
Ausiello: Filming gets underway on Nov. 2, which is why Jonathan Groff is stepping away from his role in the Broadway smash Hamilton for the entire month of November (Girls‘ Andrew Rannells will temporarily replace him in the musical). The working title of the two-hour sendoff is Looking For an Ending (I have to imagine that will change) and it finds the gang coming together to celebrate an important milestone. Several new faces will be joining Patrick, Dom & Co., including cute twentysomething tech savant Jimmy and thirtysomething “muscle bear” Jake.

Here's some scoop on the Looking wrap-up special from this week's (Posted on 8/2/15) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: I just saw Hamilton on Broadway and it was life-changing. But now I’m worried — how is Jonathan Groff going to be able to do eight shows a week and shoot the Looking movie? —David
Ausiello: It’s called an “out clause,” and Groff’s Hamilton contract has one that specifically allows him to flee to San Francisco for several weeks this fall to shoot the Looking wrap-up film.

Question: I’m dying for any scoop on Looking! —Renata
Ausiello: Gay hookup ap Grindr plays a supporting role in the March 22 Season 2 finale, which, not so coincidentally, is very much focused on Kevin and Patrick’s nascent relationship. Also, the C-word is thrown around quite a bit. Just a heads-up.

Looking: Scoop on Richie's return from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Question: I loved everything about the season premiere of Looking except the lack of Richie! When will he come back? Will he still pursue Patrick? —Julius
Ausiello: He resurfaces in the very near future when he has an unexpected and somewhat awkward run-in with one of Patrick’s BFFs, an encounter that subsequently brings him back into his ex’s orbit.

Here's some scoop on Looking from this week's (Posted on 1/7/15) Matt's Inside Line column.

Do you have anything on Looking? I’m dying while waiting for it to return. –Annie
Look for Richie to re-enter Patrick’s life in a surprising way. Speaking of Jonathan Groff’s lovably naive alter ego, a seemingly harmless rash sends him into STD panic mode.

Looking: Scoop on the future of Dom and Lynn's relationship in season 2 from TVGuide's Adam Bryant

Here's some scoop on Looking from TVGuide's Adam Bryant's Mega Buzz column, which was posted on 12/2/14.

Anything on the new season of Looking? Will Scott Bakula be back? — Margaret
Yep, so you can expect to see more of Dom and Lynn. But that doesn't necessarily mean everything is peachy. "We've moved deeper into a relationship, but how we're going to work together or not work together on his business plans is still an element in the relationship and a cause for concern," Bakula teases. "We're experimenting with two adults at different places in their lives, figuring out if they can have a relationship that makes sense."

Looking: Doris related scoop on season 2 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Looking from this week's (Posted on 9/23/14) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Any chance you have any Looking spoilers up your sleeve? I think TVLine is great even if you don’t have any spoilers for me. —Donna
Ausiello: Well, I think you’re great, Donna. Even if you’re always asking for spoilers on dumb shows I don’t give a crap about. Lucky for you, I love Looking — and I have scoop about it. Around the midway point of the show’s 10-episode second season, we’ll meet Doris’ (Lauren Weedman) surprisingly conservative and proper Aunt Sarah. (Word is Auntie S shares her niece’s penchant for being slightly scatterbrained).

Looking: Scoop on Season 2 Episode Count from TVLine

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, season 2 of Looking will consist of 10 episodes, up from the show's first season episode order, which had 8 episodes. Here's an excerpt from the article:

Despite tepid ratings, HBO renewed Looking for a second season back in February. At the same time, the show promoted three fan favorites — Lauren Weedman (Dom’s hilariously acid-tongued BFF Doris), Raúl Castillo (Patrick’s BF Richie) and Russell Tovey (Patrick’s boss Kevin) — to series regular.

Season 2 is slated to premiere in early 2015.

My thoughts: For the record, I don't have HBO, so I haven't had a chance to watch Looking yet, but I'm definitely planning to buy the DVD set of the first season when it comes out so I can watch it. That being said, I'm really glad that HBO has ordered ten episodes for the show's second season rather than just ordering eight episodes again like they did for the first season. Personally, I don't think eight episodes is enough episodes for any TV show to deliver a great season without having the storylines seem too rushed. I think it would have been great if HBO had ordered twelve or thirteen episodes for the second season of Looking, but it looks like ten episodes has become the typical number of episodes that HBO orders for each season of their shows, such as True Blood and Girls these days. Since that's what HBO has been doing with True Blood and Girls, it makes sense that they would order the same number of episodes for the second season of Looking.

Looking: Patrick and Richie related scoop on the season 1 finale (Episode 1x08 "Looking Glass") from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Looking from this week's (Posted on 2/28/14) Matt's Inside Line column.

Do Looking‘s Patrick and Kevin hook up by the end of this season? Or does something happen to at least hint at a romantic entanglement between the two? –Alexandru
It may in part depend on the March 9 season finale, in which Patrick looks to mend fences with Richie — and how successful (or not) he is in that effort.

Looking: Renewed for Season 2—3 Recurring Guest-Stars Promoted to Series Regular Status-TVLine

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, HBO has renewed Looking for a second season. The exact episode count for season 2 has yet to be decided. Additionally, Lauren Weedman (Doris), Raúl Castillo (Richie) and Russell Tovey (Kevin) have been promoted to series regular status for season 2. Here's an except from the article:

Additionally, three fan favorites who appeared in Season 1 as guest stars — Lauren Weedman (Dom’s hilariously acid-tongued BFF Doris), Raúl Castillo (Patrick’s BF Richie) and Russell Tovey (Patrick’s boss Kevin) — have been promoted to series regulars in Season 2. (Hmm… are we getting a full-fledged Richie-Patrick-Kevin triangle next season?) The trio join current series regulars Groff (Patrick), Frankie J. Alvarez (Agustín) and Murray Bartlett (Dom).

An exact episode count for Season 2, meanwhile, is still being determined (the eight-episode first season wraps on March 9).

Production will resume later this year in San Francisco.

My thoughts: For the record, I don't have HBO, so I haven't had a chance to watch Looking yet. I've heard a lot of good things about the show though, and now that it has been renewed I'm definitely going to buy the first season on DVD when it's released. Being bisexual myself, I think it's always great to see TV shows with LGBT characters do well. Now that Queer As Folk and The L Word have both been off the air for several years, I'm really excited that there's finally another TV show that focuses primarily on the LGBT community on TV. This is definitely good news. :)

Looking: Patrick, Richie and Kevin related scoop from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

Here's some scoop on Looking from this week's (Posted on 2/11/14) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Any scoops on my new obsession Looking? —Fernando
Ausiello: The two men in Patrick’s life — his hot boyfriend Richie and his even hotter boss Kevin — will soon cross paths for the first time, and it’s about as uncomfortable as you’d expect. Also, memo to HBO: We’ll go all “Red Wedding“ on your ass if you even think about canceling this show.

Bryan: I can't wait for more Looking. A weekly dose of Jonathan Groff is the best cure for the winter blues.
A J. Groff fan, eh? Well, look for the Tony nominee to don some leather in a future episode when his character, Patrick, visits San Francisco's Folsom Street Fair with friends.
