The Blacklist: Red related casting scoop on season 2 from TVGuide's Adam Bryant

Here's some scoop on The Blacklist from TVGuide's Adam Bryant's Mega Buzz column, which was posted on 9/2/14.

How about some exclusive casting news? Tony-nominated Broadway veteran Norm Lewis — who is currently starring in the title role of The Phantom of the Opera and did a stint last season on Scandal — has been tapped to play J.P. Laskin, a business associate of Red's who doesn't exactly agree with his recent moves in the ongoing war with Berlin. In fact, I hear Laskin may even be tempted to switch sides. Of course, once Red finds out about the betrayal, he'll probably make the choice for him. Perhaps playing a "phantom" will come in handy!

Scandal: Season 2 Casting Scoop

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, Steven Bailey who has been guest-starring on Grey's Anatomy as Joe the Bartender throughout the show's run will be guest-starring in season 2 of Scandal. No details on Bailey's role have been released at this point in time. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some additional casting news for season 2:



Elsewhere on the Scandal front, Broadway vet Norm Lewis (Porgy and Bess) is set to recur as an ex of Kerry Washington’s leading lady, Olivia Pope. Additionally, Patrick Fischler (Lost, Mad Men) will also appear in multiple episodes as a whistleblower who comes to Olivia for help. Scandal‘s second season gets underway on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 10/9c.

My thoughts: I think it's really cool that Steven Bailey is going to be guest-starring in season 2, but out of all this casting news for Scandal's second season the news that I'm most excited about is the fact that Patrick Fischler is going to be guest-starring in several episodes of Scandal next season. I've seen Patrick Fischler in a lot of things over the years, and I think he's an extremely talented actor. He was great on Lost and Mad Men, but I thought he was especially great in the episode of Grimm that he guest-starred in last season (Episode 1x04 "Lonelyhearts"). Patrick is a big part of why that's one of my favorite episodes from last season. I can't wait to see him on Scandal. I'm sure he'll do a great job.
