They will be going on an adventure together… or as “together” as they can be with Belle still stashed inside a decorative container. “Belle is with Rumple — she’s in Pandora’s Box, in the sleeping curse,” says Once co-creator Eddy Kitsis. And as the Season 6 premiere will make clear, Rumple did get said box back, as part of his deal with Mr. Hyde. As for where the “information” Hyde delivered in return, to rouse Belle from her slumber, will lead the couple, “That will be the mystery that we show you,” Kitsis says. Adds co-creator Adam Horowitz: “What we really focus on at the start is: ‘How the heck does he get her out of the box and wake her?'”

I haven’t seen anything,” the Suits star told me at the USA series’ recent premiere party. “I just know that I’m there to introduce the concept of the Justice Society of America and bring that into the show.” Adams then geeked out more than a little over his multi-episode turn as a superhero. “It’s so cool [to wear the costume]. It’s the dream,” he shared. “I only got a little taste of it [in the finale], so like an addict I was like, ‘I want to do more!'”

During Vlada Gelman’s recent chat with the “brothers,” Jensen Ackles said he plans to break his recent streak of directing an early-season episode, explaining, “I just decided to take the first part of the season easy. Twenty-three episodes [per season] is a long, long shoot, and I usually would direct the first episode that we would film… so it’s basically like sprinting the first several miles of a marathon, which doesn’t really work if you’re a good runner. You want to pace yourself, so I’m going to pace myself this year.”

This much I can tell you: LMDs are happening. Specifically, the ABC series at this time is looking to cast the recurring role of Aida, a “very attractive” robot (because after all, why make a homely one?) who moves about quite naturally but speaks a bit formally, like Iron Man’s Jarvis. Also to be introduced in Season 4: a pair of Latino brothers, one of whom is always the most dangerous person in the room, the other paralyzed in a wheelchair.

They can have a very civil, mature conversation one moment, then be at each other’s throats [the next], because real life is like that. We carry frustrations and baggage and grudges.” And at the same time, the underlying attraction isn’t diminished. So the exes “can fight and then have sex in the same scene,” the actor laughs. “It’s a very passionate relationship with a lot of history behind it.” Whether it also has a future in front of it remains a big ol’ question mark.

Producers are specifically looking for candidates who possess a background in gymnastics or martial arts and can execute a flawless South African accent and look like a miniature Jaimie Alexander. Question: Do you know the name of the song that was sung over the opening credits of Penny Dreadful‘s series (sniff) finale? It was beautiful. —Holly
Ausiello: It was called “A Prayer” and it was written by Tony-winning composer Tom Kitt specifically for that change-of-pace opening title sequence. “I wanted to signal to [viewers] that the episode was going to be a little different,” series creator John Logan explains. “It also foreshadowed [the theme of the] episode, which is ascension to heaven and finding peace with God.” But even more than that, the song was intended as a valentine to the show’s loyal, passionate fans. “I feel a great sense of responsibility to the fans, because I’m a huge genre fan and I’m a huge horror fan,” he notes. “And I think we’ve treated them with affection and respect all the way along.”

Question: Hello, longtime follower of yours. I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan and was hoping you might have some new and juicy revival information. At the very least maybe a release date? Thanks a ton. — Amy
Ausiello: Unconfirmed reports put the revival’s release at either the Tuesday before or the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I have no idea if either date is true, but the former makes a lot more sense than the latter. I mean, why would Netflix drop the four movie-lets at the end of a four-day weekend versus at the start? Of course, none of this really impacts me since I’ve already seen them all. I’ve also already read the Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere script and glimpsed the first 14 minutes of Star Wars: Episode VIII: Fall of the Resistance, so I think we can all agree I’ve come a long way since interning at As the World Turns.

I can’t give you that information right now — it’s locked up in the vault, so to speak — but I can tell you about a new face we’ll be meeting in the first episode of Season 8. The show is currently casting the recurring role of Sybil, “an immortal who uses her immeasurable power and influence to control other people, manipulating them into twisted games and tests for her own amusement and glorification.” Time will tell whether she proves to be a friend or foe, but given this show’s penchant for sympathetic villains, it could also be fair to assume she’ll be a bit of both.

Ausiello: If you’re wondering how Curtis will play a larger role in Season 5 — now that Echo Kellum is a series regular — but without duplicating Felicity’s efforts, Wendy Mericle laid out the difference for us. “Essentially, if she’s software, he’s hardware,” the EP explained. “As he evolves into becoming Mr. Terrific in Season 5, one of the things we’re really exploring is differentiating them by having Curtis be more like Cisco on The Flash. We want him to be a bit more hands-on, a little more about building physical tech.”

Naomi is a grandmotherly type who, having lost so many loved ones, is now willing to do whatever it takes not to have to bury any more. (Maybe she’s being introduced to counsel Carol about the awful necessities of the post-apocalyptic world… ) On the flip side is Jennie, a sunny-side-up kinda teenager — oh, Caaarl! — who sounds a lot like Beth 2.0, “kind, with a world-weary toughness.”

Ausiello: The answer is A) not the next day nor B) weeks later but C), Season 6 will open just moments after Hyde arrived in Storybrooke and ominously greeted Regina. From there, says co-creator Adam Horowitz, “What the Untold Stories characters are, what their whole deal is, is something we’ll explore.”

Question: I am really excited for the next season of Once Upon a Time, and my question is: What new characters will we meet besides Hyde? — Iris
Ausiello: In addition to the previously scooped Sinbad and Scheherazade, the ABC series is casting for the premiere the role of Morpheus, as in the Greek god of dreams (versus, you know, Laurence Fishburne in The Matrix). He is described as “an old soul in a young body,” someone who is equally good at reading people as he is at hiding his own agenda.

As previously teased, Adam will get out of jail next season, but it will take some time for things to go back to normal for Kono and her husband. “These two people have to get to know each other again,” EP Peter M. Lenkov tells me. “Some of that erodes when there’s distance. Especially being in prison, your mind starts to wander and you start to question things. But their relationship is in a healthy place, I just think that they’re going to need to get to know each other again when he comes out. But I think she will trust him.”

EP Josh Safran reveals that the opening moments of season 2 will put the Grand Central Station bombing to shame. “The event in season 2 is probably even bigger than season 1 on some level,” he says. “But while it is bigger, it’s also more contained. It allows us to feel more rooted every time we travel from one timeline to another. Again, if season 1 was sort of The Fugitive, season 2 has another blockbuster in mind.” Alas, Safran declines to reveal which movie will inspire season 2. “If I said it, it’ll be very clear what we’re doing, and I can’t do that,” he says.

We’re planning to explore a lot of what that’s going to mean for the day-to-day life in Storybrooke.” Adds EP Edward Kitsis: “One of the things that we really want to get back to this year is that season 1 and 2 vibe of small town stories, being in Storybrooke and getting back to Mary Margaret as the teacher, Emma as the sheriff, Grumpy as the janitor.”

But the real question hanging over this last hour is whether Bran will return to the Tower of Joy. Here’s hoping!

As it went on, that idea changed to, ‘Oh we’ll end it on their marriage — that will be the end of the series, them getting married.’ We’ve passed that, so now it’s back to, ‘I have an idea, but I will go in and see if that idea meshes with the guys who have been running the show for the past two years, not to mention David and Emily.’ We’ll see.”

What is the advance word on American Gothic? What type of show is it? Will it be a fun, hot mess like Harper’s Island? —Shawn
Between this and CBS’ other summer newbie, BrainDead, I give the edge to American Gothic, which follows a well-heeled Boston family’s connection to a long-ago series of serial murders — and, worse, just as one of them is running for office. Like BrainDead, it’s a bit slow out of the gate, but by the end of the premiere there are enough questions raised and guilty-looking parties hinted at to keep you glued to the mystery. (Cat owners might wanna be wary of the Virginia Madsen’s TV grandson, however. Egads.) At first blush, American Gothic doesn’t seem to be quite as gleefully ghoulish as Harper’s Island, but hey, we can always hope.

Per EP Graeme Manson, “The most interesting thing about Kira’s empathetic tendencies is that those are the most human and ineffable qualities you can have. We’re not the kind of show that’s going to say, ‘Oh, we have a scientific reason for human empathy or for ESP or whatever you want to call it.’ I’m sure everybody’s interested about it, and I’m sure our characters will be very interested in it, but are we going to wrap it up with a bow and tell you it’s genetic? To me, that’s not a very satisfying answer. I’m more interested in the ineffable quality of it and the fact that, as human beings, we beat ourselves up to try and define everything.”

She’s sort of a little bit lost at sea in that she’s not running the show, she doesn’t really have any ‘girls to produce.’ So the only way for her to gain control of the show is to play a little nasty.” Which is fine by us!

What I can tell you is that in the final two episodes of the Syfy freshman (airing Fridays at 10/9c), we learn more about Willa Earp’s backstory, where she’s been all these years, and who is the true heir and rightful owner of Peacemaker. As for Officer Haught, you will very soon see her get out of that stuffy police uniform and into formal wear. (That’s right — it’s date night in Purgatory!)
