Once Upon a Time: Belle and Rumplestiltskin related scoop on the season 6 premiere from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/disney/images/5/50/Once_Upon_a_Time_-_5x19_-_Sisters_-_Sleeping_Belle.png/revision/latest?cb=20160428183358

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time from this week's (Posted on 6/30/16) Matt's Inside Line column.

Do you have any scoop on what’s going to happen to Once Upon a Time‘s Belle and Rumple? Will they be going on an adventure for the first time together? —Rebecca
They will be going on an adventure together… or as “together” as they can be with Belle still stashed inside a decorative container. “Belle is with Rumple — she’s in Pandora’s Box, in the sleeping curse,” says Once co-creator Eddy Kitsis. And as the Season 6 premiere will make clear, Rumple did get said box back, as part of his deal with Mr. Hyde. As for where the “information” Hyde delivered in return, to rouse Belle from her slumber, will lead the couple, “That will be the mystery that we show you,” Kitsis says. Adds co-creator Adam Horowitz: “What we really focus on at the start is: ‘How the heck does he get her out of the box and wake her?'”

DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Scoop on Patrick J. Adams’ (Hourman) return in season 2 from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on DC's Legends of Tomorrow from this week's (Posted on 6/30/16) Matt's Inside Line column.

Any scoop on Patrick J. Adams’ return to Legends of Tomorrow as Hourman? —Jim
Not really, and not for a lack of asking Adams himself. “I have no idea what’s coming up. I haven’t seen anything,” the Suits star told me at the USA series’ recent premiere party. “I just know that I’m there to introduce the concept of the Justice Society of America and bring that into the show.” Adams then geeked out more than a little over his multi-episode turn as a superhero. “It’s so cool [to wear the costume]. It’s the dream,” he shared. “I only got a little taste of it [in the finale], so like an addict I was like, ‘I want to do more!'”

Supernatural: Scoop on the possibility of Jensen Ackles directing any season 12 episodes from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Supernatural from this week's (Posted on 6/30/16) Matt's Inside Line column.

So much Supernatural news this week. Dare we ask for more? — Dee
Dare away! During Vlada Gelman’s recent chat with the “brothers,” Jensen Ackles said he plans to break his recent streak of directing an early-season episode, explaining, “I just decided to take the first part of the season easy. Twenty-three episodes [per season] is a long, long shoot, and I usually would direct the first episode that we would film… so it’s basically like sprinting the first several miles of a marathon, which doesn’t really work if you’re a good runner. You want to pace yourself, so I’m going to pace myself this year.”

Could you please tell me when the next season of The Strain is coming on? —Cathy
In addition to reminding you that the FX horror series is back on Sunday, Aug. 28, I can offer this teaser from Max Charles, who plays Zack: “At the beginning of Season 3, New York has fallen and the government has given up,” the child actor told us at the Saturn Awards. “That leaves the people of New York to fight to save themselves.” (Which pretty much sums up any summertime ride on the subway, really.)

Here's some scoop on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from this week's (Posted on 6/30/16) Matt's Inside Line column.

What is going to take up more A-plot on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this season — tracking down Daisy, or the LMDs? —Maura
This much I can tell you: LMDs are happening. Specifically, the ABC series at this time is looking to cast the recurring role of Aida, a “very attractive” robot (because after all, why make a homely one?) who moves about quite naturally but speaks a bit formally, like Iron Man’s Jarvis. Also to be introduced in Season 4: a pair of Latino brothers, one of whom is always the most dangerous person in the room, the other paralyzed in a wheelchair.

Here's some scoop on Suits from this week's (Posted on 6/27/16) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Is this the season that Suits fans finally get to see some romantic Donna/Harvey action? —Lori
Ausiello: With Mike having just set foot in prison and the firm’s partners working OT to keep the lights on at Pearson Specter Litt in the wake of the mass exodus, “We’re not going to dig too much into emotions between [Donna and Harvey],” Sarah Rafferty told Matt Mitovich at the Season 6 premiere event. “They’re really busy working s—t out, and they’re not going to have their confusing relationship status get in the way of their goals.” Cupid’s arrow might find its way to Louis, however, and when it does…. “I have always said that if I need a wingman, I would pick Donna,” Rafferty smiles. “She’s the superhero of wingmen, so she gets to put on her cape and help him out.”

Here's some scoop on Grey's Anatomy from this week's (Posted on 6/27/16) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Any chance the baby will bring Grey’s Anatomy’s “Japril” back together next season? —Kimberly
Ausiello: There’s always a chance, Jesse Williams recently told TVLine’s Vlada Gelman. But “it’s day to day with Jackson and April. They can have a very civil, mature conversation one moment, then be at each other’s throats [the next], because real life is like that. We carry frustrations and baggage and grudges.” And at the same time, the underlying attraction isn’t diminished. So the exes “can fight and then have sex in the same scene,” the actor laughs. “It’s a very passionate relationship with a lot of history behind it.” Whether it also has a future in front of it remains a big ol’ question mark.

Ausiello: In Season 2, we will See. Jane. Shrink. The NBC drama, which wisely just snatched Archie Panjabi off the open market, is looking for an actress age 9 to 11 to play “Young Jane” in a series of flashback sequences to be spread out over the course of the season. Penny Dreadful: Music related scoop on the series finale (Episode 3x09 "The Blessed Dark") from TVLine's Michael Ausiello

http://screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Penny-Dreadful-Season-3-Poster.jpg

Here's some scoop on Penny Dreadful from this week's (Posted on 6/27/16) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Do you know the name of the song that was sung over the opening credits of Penny Dreadful‘s series (sniff) finale? It was beautiful. —Holly
Ausiello: It was called “A Prayer” and it was written by Tony-winning composer Tom Kitt specifically for that change-of-pace opening title sequence. “I wanted to signal to [viewers] that the episode was going to be a little different,” series creator John Logan explains. “It also foreshadowed [the theme of the] episode, which is ascension to heaven and finding peace with God.” But even more than that, the song was intended as a valentine to the show’s loyal, passionate fans. “I feel a great sense of responsibility to the fans, because I’m a huge genre fan and I’m a huge horror fan,” he notes. “And I think we’ve treated them with affection and respect all the way along.”

Here's some scoop on Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life from this week's (Posted on 6/27/16) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Hello, longtime follower of yours. I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan and was hoping you might have some new and juicy revival information. At the very least maybe a release date? Thanks a ton. — Amy
Ausiello: Unconfirmed reports put the revival’s release at either the Tuesday before or the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I have no idea if either date is true, but the former makes a lot more sense than the latter. I mean, why would Netflix drop the four movie-lets at the end of a four-day weekend versus at the start? Of course, none of this really impacts me since I’ve already seen them all. I’ve also already read the Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere script and glimpsed the first 14 minutes of Star Wars: Episode VIII: Fall of the Resistance, so I think we can all agree I’ve come a long way since interning at As the World Turns.

Question: Any Vampire Diaries scoop? Dying to know what we should be calling that thing that turned Damon and Enzo evil. –Jake
Ausiello:
Wouldn’t we all, Jake? I can’t give you that information right now — it’s locked up in the vault, so to speak — but I can tell you about a new face we’ll be meeting in the first episode of Season 8. The show is currently casting the recurring role of Sybil, “an immortal who uses her immeasurable power and influence to control other people, manipulating them into twisted games and tests for her own amusement and glorification.” Time will tell whether she proves to be a friend or foe, but given this show’s penchant for sympathetic villains, it could also be fair to assume she’ll be a bit of both.

Here's some scoop on Arrow from this week's (Posted on 6/27/16) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Do you have any scoop about Arrow? —James
Ausiello: If you’re wondering how Curtis will play a larger role in Season 5 — now that Echo Kellum is a series regular — but without duplicating Felicity’s efforts, Wendy Mericle laid out the difference for us. “Essentially, if she’s software, he’s hardware,” the EP explained. “As he evolves into becoming Mr. Terrific in Season 5, one of the things we’re really exploring is differentiating them by having Curtis be more like Cisco on The Flash. We want him to be a bit more hands-on, a little more about building physical tech.”

Question: I just binge-watched all six seasons of The Walking Dead and now I’m going through withdrawal. Do you have any scoop? Any at all? — Jon
Ausiello: Isn’t asking if I have scoop like asking a walker if you look tasty? The answer is always yes! Episode 6 will introduce two new characters who don’t sound to me like anyone in particular from the comic-book series. (Correct me if I’m wrong — and we both know you will.) Naomi is a grandmotherly type who, having lost so many loved ones, is now willing to do whatever it takes not to have to bury any more. (Maybe she’s being introduced to counsel Carol about the awful necessities of the post-apocalyptic world… ) On the flip side is Jennie, a sunny-side-up kinda teenager — oh, Caaarl! — who sounds a lot like Beth 2.0, “kind, with a world-weary toughness.”

Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time from this week's (Posted on 6/27/16) Ask Ausiello column.

Question: Will Once Upon a Time pick up right where they left off in the finale (like, is it the next day after Jekyll and Hyde come to town)? Or will there be a few weeks where the town is normal — the “calm before the storm,” so to speak? — Shannon
Ausiello: The answer is A) not the next day nor B) weeks later but C), Season 6 will open just moments after Hyde arrived in Storybrooke and ominously greeted Regina. From there, says co-creator Adam Horowitz, “What the Untold Stories characters are, what their whole deal is, is something we’ll explore.”
Question: I am really excited for the next season of Once Upon a Time, and my question is: What new characters will we meet besides Hyde? — Iris
Ausiello: In addition to the previously scooped Sinbad and Scheherazade, the ABC series is casting for the premiere the role of Morpheus, as in the Greek god of dreams (versus, you know, Laurence Fishburne in The Matrix). He is described as “an old soul in a young body,” someone who is equally good at reading people as he is at hiding his own agenda.

Here's some scoop on Hawaii Five-0 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 6/24/16.

Anything on Kono for Hawaii Five-0? — Lisa
As previously teased, Adam will get out of jail next season, but it will take some time for things to go back to normal for Kono and her husband. “These two people have to get to know each other again,” EP Peter M. Lenkov tells me. “Some of that erodes when there’s distance. Especially being in prison, your mind starts to wander and you start to question things. But their relationship is in a healthy place, I just think that they’re going to need to get to know each other again when he comes out. But I think she will trust him.”

American Gothic: Madeline related scoop from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams

http://wwwimage.cbsstatic.com/base/files/styles/596xh/public/virginia_madsen_2.jpg

Here's some scoop on American Gothic from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 6/24/16.

I need to know everything about American Gothic!!! — Miley
The question you should be asking yourself is whether Mitchell was actually culpable with the killings, or keeping one of his family members in check — especially considering his deathbed proclamation that they needed to tell the truth. “That was supposed to be ambiguous,” says EP Corinne Brinkerhoff, teasing that Madeline’s motivations for killing her husband are complicated. “She will unpack her side of the story and make you really rethink what it is you saw at the end of the pilot and what it meant.”

12 Monkeys: Deacon related scoop from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams

Here's some scoop on 12 Monkeys from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 6/24/16.

How will Deacon deal with Cassie blowing him off on 12 Monkeys? — Caitlyn
Not well. “You’re going to see a return to the old ruthless Deacon,” EP Terry Matalas cautions. “He’s coming undone. He softened because of Cassie, and now he doesn’t have that anymore, so you’re going to see an unhinged Deacon again.” As an added bonus, I’ll tease that you’ll see a lot more of Deacon soon. (You’ll understand what I mean when you see it.)

Quantico: Scoop on the season 2 premiere and more on season 2 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams

Here's some scoop on Quantico from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 6/24/16.

I need something Quantico. Anything, really. — Jason
EP Josh Safran reveals that the opening moments of season 2 will put the Grand Central Station bombing to shame. “The event in season 2 is probably even bigger than season 1 on some level,” he says. “But while it is bigger, it’s also more contained. It allows us to feel more rooted every time we travel from one timeline to another. Again, if season 1 was sort of The Fugitive, season 2 has another blockbuster in mind.” Alas, Safran declines to reveal which movie will inspire season 2. “If I said it, it’ll be very clear what we’re doing, and I can’t do that,” he says.

Will any of the untold stories on Once Upon a Time hold a connection to any of the characters? — lennyukpirate1
That’s TBD, but the arrival of characters from the Land of Untold stories will certainly affect those in Storybrooke. “The condition of life in Storybrooke is very important,” EP Adam Horowitz says. “Hyde’s arrival impacts that. We’re planning to explore a lot of what that’s going to mean for the day-to-day life in Storybrooke.” Adds EP Edward Kitsis: “One of the things that we really want to get back to this year is that season 1 and 2 vibe of small town stories, being in Storybrooke and getting back to Mary Margaret as the teacher, Emma as the sheriff, Grumpy as the janitor.”

I’ll take anything Grey’s Anatomy. — Jameson
If and when Maggie does find out that her sister is hooking up with the guy she likes, I’m curious whether Maggie will take out some of her anger on Alex – since he encouraged Maggie to go after Riggs. “If it will enable us to do more brother-sister bickering, I certainly hope so because that’s one of my favorite things to do is bicker with Justin,” Kelly McCreary says. “It’s possible. Look, this is a very, very sensitive situation. More than anything, I think that Maggie’s ego will probably be wounded. Anybody playing any part in that, Maggie might find herself on the outs with them for a little while.”

Anything on Mary Drake on Pretty Little Liars? – Cara
Considering the season 7 premiere revealed that Mary Drake got out of Radley 23 years ago, there’s a lot of room for exploration with her character. “We’re going to have a lot of fun learning about her relationship with Elliott, how they met, their relationship with Charlotte, are Elliott and Mary really on the same page or do they have different goals and what exactly are those goals,” executive producer Charlie Craig says. “That’s going to be a very interesting story to tell, and also, what Mary’s ties are to the girls, to this town. We know a little bit about her history and we’re going to learn a lot more.” Now, what do we think the odds are that the Hastings will make an appearance in Mary’s backstory?

I can’t believe the Game of Thrones finale is upon us. What do you know about it?! — Kelsey
Here’s what I know: Unlike some of the Thrones finales that aired after action-packed episodes, this season-ender definitely does not slow down the pace. You can expect pretty much every major character to make an appearance, with Cersei and Ser Loras’ trial serving as a pivotal centerpiece that will change King’s Landing politics next year. But the real question hanging over this last hour is whether Bran will return to the Tower of Joy. Here’s hoping!

UnREAL scoop. Hit me. — Carter
As chilly as ice queens Quinn and Rachel are, their hearts will be thawed this year — but raise your hand if you see that being a good thing. Crickets. “I’m excited for all of our characters to try and kill each other,” EP Sarah Gertrude Shapiro says. “There is so much tension this season, so much to fight over and also seeing Rachel and Quinn trying to find love, like for real, is exciting. Love the Baz twist at the end of the Animal Kingdom premiere. What’s next for him? — Drew
Well, if you enjoyed the fact that he seems to be living two lives, you’ll probably enjoy what comes next: even more lives. “I like that he has other lives, plural, going on,” Scott Speedman says. “And maybe more than one; maybe more than a couple. The guy is not settled as a family man.” It seems the leader of the Cody brothers doesn’t have his life together as much as we originally thought. Or perhaps, I should say, he doesn’t have his lives together.

Here's some scoop on Bones from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 6/17/16.

Do you have anything about the end of Bones? — Jaimie
Hart Hanson says he plans to pen the series finale, likely alongside Stephan Nathan. “I have had an ending in mind, because we were such a precarious show, we weren’t supposed to make it to our first Christmas,” Hanson says. “I had this idea how to end the show. As it went on, that idea changed to, ‘Oh we’ll end it on their marriage — that will be the end of the series, them getting married.’ We’ve passed that, so now it’s back to, ‘I have an idea, but I will go in and see if that idea meshes with the guys who have been running the show for the past two years, not to mention David and Emily.’ We’ll see.”

Here's some scoop on 12 Monkeys from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 6/17/16.

What’s next for Cassandra and Cole on 12 Monkeys? — Kelsey
Expect some big drama during Monday’s episode, when Cole’s mission to go after the Primary comes into conflict with Railly and Ramse’s want to find Titan. “They’re on a time clock before these temporal storms are going to destroy the facility, the machine and their ability to save the world,” EP Terry Matalas says. “Cole really wants to save the world first to do the right thing, but Cassie and Ramse have been through their own darkness and they’re about rage and vengeance right now. Honestly, who can blame them? For two years now, the 12 Monkeys have been one step ahead of them. Maybe the right fight is to go find the Witness and put an end to this. There’s no right answer here. Cole’s loyalty will be put to the test in episode 10.”

Will Liz’s father be the new big bad on The Blacklist next season? — Langston
Possibly. “That’s definitely a cliffhanger for next year,” EP John Eisendrath says. “It’s definitely an, ‘Oh my God, who really is this person, what’s his agenda and what is going to happen to Liz?’ We’re left with Red and everyone aware of the fact that Liz is alive, and she’s also been abducted.” In other words, Red will certainly think Alexander Kirk is the villain.

Scandal: Scoop on the future of Olivia and Jake's relationship in season 6 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams

Here's some scoop on Scandal from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 6/17/16.

Any scoop on Scandal when it returns in 2017? — TVLoverNY
It sounds like Olivia and Jake will be working together in more than one way next season, if you catch my drift. “I’m going to be very unpopular in saying this: I think Olivia has chosen Jake,” Scott Foley says. “There is no question in my mind that she’s chosen Jake. Proof of that for me is the day he was going to get married. They concocted this plan, they were going to be together, he was going to leave [his fiancée] at the altar until Rowan threatened Olivia with Jake’s life. She had to have that really heartbreaking speech to him where she said, ‘I don’t love you, I never loved you, I love Fitz.’ It was very apparent to me that she wanted to be with Jake and she couldn’t.”

Here's some scoop on DC's Legends of Tomorrow from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 6/17/16.

Do you know who the villain will be on Legends of Tomorrow next season? — Brad
I can tell you who it’s not: EP Marc Guggenheim tells me the future invading alien race, the Thanagarians, are not the threat, but we won’t find out who or what is immediately. “Unlike season 1 of Legends, where we basically had the big bad introduced in the crossover, what we’re going to do in season 2 of Legends will be more similar to what you’ve experienced in the first three seasons of Arrow or the first two seasons of Flash, where it’s more of a slow reveal and a little bit of a mystery,” he says.

Is there anything you can say about the Battle of the Bastards on Game of Thrones? — Ronan
In short, I’m told it’s amazing and the most spectacular TV battle you’ve ever seen, even when it comes to one element that’s under-appreciated, but really expensive: lots of horses. Kit Harington demonstrates everything he’s learned as an action star and physical performer over the last five years. It’s must see and must see live. Also, the bastards battle isn’t the only action sequence in the episode. Stew on that.

Here's some scoop on American Gothic from this week's (Posted on 6/16/16) Matt's Inside Line column.

What is the advance word on American Gothic? What type of show is it? Will it be a fun, hot mess like Harper’s Island? —Shawn
Between this and CBS’ other summer newbie, BrainDead, I give the edge to American Gothic, which follows a well-heeled Boston family’s connection to a long-ago series of serial murders — and, worse, just as one of them is running for office. Like BrainDead, it’s a bit slow out of the gate, but by the end of the premiere there are enough questions raised and guilty-looking parties hinted at to keep you glued to the mystery. (Cat owners might wanna be wary of the Virginia Madsen’s TV grandson, however. Egads.) At first blush, American Gothic doesn’t seem to be quite as gleefully ghoulish as Harper’s Island, but hey, we can always hope.

Orphan Black: Scoop on the possibility of the show explaining Kira’s psychic connection to the clones from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich

Here's some scoop on Orphan Black from this week's (Posted on 6/16/16) Matt's Inside Line column.

Are we going to get any explanation or more hints about Kira’s seemingly psychic connection to the clones before this season of Orphan Black is over? —Katie H.
While “we will discover more about it” in the future, don’t expect a detailed explanation. Per EP Graeme Manson, “The most interesting thing about Kira’s empathetic tendencies is that those are the most human and ineffable qualities you can have. We’re not the kind of show that’s going to say, ‘Oh, we have a scientific reason for human empathy or for ESP or whatever you want to call it.’ I’m sure everybody’s interested about it, and I’m sure our characters will be very interested in it, but are we going to wrap it up with a bow and tell you it’s genetic? To me, that’s not a very satisfying answer. I’m more interested in the ineffable quality of it and the fact that, as human beings, we beat ourselves up to try and define everything.”

The when of Adam’s reappearance is a secret, but suffice to say, he comes back in a very unexpected way and in doing so definitely shakes up Rachel’s world. Speaking of the ousted Everlasting showrunner, Shiri Appleby had this to say about Rachel’s backfired plan: “She doesn’t deal with it very well. She’s sort of a little bit lost at sea in that she’s not running the show, she doesn’t really have any ‘girls to produce.’ So the only way for her to gain control of the show is to play a little nasty.” Which is fine by us!
