Just because we’re likely not going to see certain people (very much or at all) next season does not mean we won’t hear about them. It’s “absolutely” the plan to find out what’s going on with them, according to EP Edward Kitsis. EP Adam Horowitz adds: “Yeah, we fully intend on that.” So at least there’s that.

That does seem pretty fishy, right? Alas, I think we’re in for some bad news in that department. “She could be [faking this]. We’ve seen her talent with magic,” executive producer Edward Kitsis says. “But that seems to be very easy. I would hate to end the show on information like that just to buy it back and say, ‘Just kidding!’ That would seem not fair.” Here’s hoping this just means Robin and Zelena are not the ones getting married.

Previewing this Sunday’s episode, Colin O’Donoghue noted, “Blackbeard obviously is very much a dreaded pirate, and you get to see Hook interact a little bit with him — I can’t tell you how or why, because that will give away too much – but and it harks back a little bit to all the old Errol Flynn films and stuff like that. It’s good old-fashioned, swashbuckling fun.”

"It manifests in jealousy, it comes out in envy, but there's some deeper issues there that I can't share with you." Aww, snap! Well, we hate to disappoint you, fellow OUAT lover, but our favorite characters will not actually be spending a lot of time walking along that infamous yellow brick road. Co-creator Adam Horowitz gave us all the magical details on how the second half of the season will differ from the first: "It's very different in its conception," he says. "The Wicked Witch is a big part of the second half and a driving force as an antagonist, but the world of Oz is not. It's a place that you will see and we'll spend a little bit of time there, but it's not a everybody-gets-on-a-ship-and-goes-there kind of thing."

Ausiello: The fourth episode back, “It’s Not Easy Being Green,” will shed light on the origin of Rebecca Mader’s character — possibly including her beef with the Evil Queen. “She’s got a whole backstory and mythology,” says series cocreator Adam Horowitz. “We used the original [L. Frank Baum] book as a jumping-off point, and then spun her in a hopefully unique, Once Upon a Time way.” But rest assured that when Wicked meets and/or reunites with Evil, “There are sparks that fly,” Horowitz warns.

Pack your bags 'cause we're hitting the yellow brick road. Sources tell us the show is actually going to Oz. Producers are in the process of figuring out what they can and can't use, based on what comes from the books, the movie or the Broadway musical. Most of what we see will be taken from the books, like the flying monkeys!

Question: Belle is one of my favorites on Once Upon A Time and I’m really disappointed in how little we’ve seen of her in the first half of Season 3. Please tell me she’ll have a bigger role in the second half! Will she at least have her own -centric episode? —Tara
Ausiello: I’m going to venture yes on getting a new Belle flashback, seeing as for Episode 15 the show is casting an “uppity,” “know-it-all” servant who must, repeat must, have a French accent. The character also is named “Lawrence,” which, I must observe, starts with the same letter as “Lumiere.”

Question: Two Once Upon a Time questions, pretty please! Rumple can’t really be dead, right? And is the Wicked Witch really the Black Fairy? –Ashley
Ausiello: Second things first: Sources say it’s unlikely that Rebecca Mader’s iconic villainess is also the Black Fairy who got name-checked in the midseason finale. As for Rumplestiltskin’s fate, I’ll remind you of what the Once creators told us a few weeks back, as they measured their words carefully. “To the Rumbellers out there, we hope that you enjoy what we have in store. In the second half of the season, they are going to be in the same world for an extended period of time,” Adam Horowitz said. Eddy Kitsis then added, “The second half of the season will further explore their relationship – in whatever state that is.” Sounds alive-ish to me, right…?

I know that series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis are happy to have brought her on, seeing as the last time they wrote for Rebecca Mader on Lost, they killed off poor Charlotte. “We’ve had her in mind for this for a while,” says Horowitz, “and the time finally seemed right.” Also: I am told that Bex will keep her British accent – whether that’s a clue is for you to decide.
