New Girl: Julian Morris Cast as Jess' Love Interest in Season 4
According to Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams, Julian Morris will guest-star in a recurring guest-star role in New Girl's upcoming fourth season. Morris will first appear in an episode that's currently scheduled to air in October. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some more details on Morris' role:
The Once Upon a Time and Pretty Little Liars star will play Ryan, a distractingly handsome teacher who replaces Jess in the classroom now that she’s the vice principal. His confidence and swagger rub her the wrong way as she attempts to assert her authority.
As we first reported in Spoiler Room, Jess will end up falling for him. “The complication is that she’s very much his boss,” executive producer Liz Meriwether says. “Jess is fighting her feelings for this teacher at work.”

My thoughts: Let me start out by saying that admittedly I fell behind on watching New Girl fairly early on in season 3, and I only watched a few random episodes throughout the season, mainly because I wasn't enjoying the show as much I enjoyed the show's second season. I'm planning on getting caught up on watching season 3 once it comes out on DVD this Tuesday though. That being said, I am excited about this news because I really liked Julian Morris on Once Upon a Time. I also think that Morris' character sounds very interesting, and I think that the viewers will be able expect a lot of funny moments between Jess and Ryan.
Looking back on Jess and Nick's relationship, as much as I love the chemistry between Zooey Deschanel and Jake Johnson and as much as I love the interactions between Jess and Nick, I'm not sure that Jess and Nick are compatible enough with each other to work as a couple in the long run. For that reason, I'm really excited about this news and the fact that Jess will apparently be dating a lot of different guys next season. Since it sounds like Julian Morris will only be playing one of many love interests for Jess next season, I'm not sure how long he'll be around, or if it would be worth it to get too attached to Morris' character. I'm still excited that Julian Morris will be guest-starring on New Girl next season though.

Faking It: Amy, Liam and Karma related scoop on the season 2 premiere from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams
Here's some scoop on Faking It from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 8/29/14.
Not sure if you watch this show, but do you know anything about the new season of Faking It? — Shari
Are you kidding me? I love Faking It! I’ll admit I was a late adopter, but I recently binge-watched and am counting down the days until the show’s return. The second season will kick off shortly after Amy and Liam did the deed since she’s picking up the morning-after pill as a precaution. The good news is that she seriously regrets her actions. But will Karma understand?

Criminal Minds: Blake related scoop on the season 10 premiere (Episode 10x01 "X") from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams
Here's some scoop on Criminal Minds from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 8/29/14.
Will we find out what happened to Blake on Criminal Minds? — Mindy
Yes, and you won’t have to wait long to get the scoop. “You’ll learn in the teaser that she’s actually moved to Boston and she’s teaching full time,” executive producer Erica Messer tells me. “She’s not an FBI agent anymore, but she’s taking all of her skills and teaching them to others, which is a pretty honorable thing to do.”

About a Boy: Scoop on Adrianne Palicki's future on the show and Marcus related scoop on season 2 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams

Excited for Adrianne Palicki on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but what does that mean for her role on About a Boy? — Mel
Don’t worry, she’ll be back for several episodes at the beginning of the season, with the possibility of returning later. However, that should not give you hope for Sam and Will’s relationship. Speaking of girlfriends, Marcus may get one of his own this season. Does taking the fall for the school’s bad girl count as dating?

New Girl: Nick, Coach, Cece and Winston related scoop on episode 4x02 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams
Here's some scoop on New Girl from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 8/29/14.
Thanks for the New Girl scoop, but any chance on getting something not love related? — Kathleen
Even though Winston won’t actually graduate from the police academy until around midseason, the roommates will already be dealing with the complications that come with his future career. “In the second episode, Nick, Coach and Cece decide to get stoned because they feel like they’re not going to be able to get stoned when Winston is actually a cop,” executive producer Liz Meriwether teases. “But then they end up at a party of all cops when they’re very stoned.”

Sons of Anarchy: Jax related scoop on season 7 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams
Here's some scoop on Sons of Anarchy from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 8/29/14.
I’m still in denial that this is the final season of Sons of Anarchy. Anything to comfort me? — Dave
A war is brewing in the final season that could spill straight into the streets of Charming all because of Jax’s quest for vengeance. If you thought SAMCRO’s president had made some questionable choices in the past, just wait until you see what lines he’ll cross this season. However, he may find an ally in the new sheriff (Annabeth Gish), who seems to want to play ball with the club, but can she be trusted?

Once Upon a Time: Hans related scoop on season 4 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams
Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 8/29/14.
Have there been any new details regarding Hans on Once Upon a Time? — Erin
As suspected, “He has not been redeemed,” executive producer Edward Kitsis tells me. “He’s a sociopath.” Here’s something to chew on: Could he actually be behind Elsa’s imprisonment in Rumple’s vault? “That’s one of the mysteries that we intend to unfurl,” executive producer Adam Horowitz says, adding that Hans “still feels the weight of being the youngest of 12 brothers, and there’s a very good chance of seeing some of those 12 brothers.”

Scoop on the possibility of crossovers in season 3 of Chicago Fire and season 2 of Chicago P.D. from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams
Here's some scoop on Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 8/29/14.
Do you know if Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. will cross over this season? — Anna
It won’t be long before we see more of the mini-crossovers. In one upcoming episode, Burgess will be among the cops who come to Severide’s rescue when he risks his life to protect a woman after they witness a gang initiation shooting. I hear the shooting actually brings Severide closer to said woman, which makes me worry about his future with Chicago P.D.’s Lindsay.

The Vampire Diaries: Scoop on when Damon will return to Mystic Falls in season 6 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams
Here's some scoop on The Vampire Diaries from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 8/29/14.
Any word on how long until Damon’s back in Mystic Falls on The Vampire Diaries? — Jenna
Since Mystic Falls is still being cloaked by the Travelers’ spell that will kill any vampire who steps foot in town, probably not anytime soon. However, Damon could actually come face-to-face with someone in the land of the living fairly quickly. (And no, that’s not counting Elena using some witchy drug to hallucinate him.) Ian Somerhalder teased that brother bonding isn’t far off. “I had some really great scenes with Paul [Wesley] not too long ago, like last week,” he says. “You definitely see some great stuff with those boys. It’s good when they’re not at one another’s throats.” So unless Stefan joins Elena’s drug trip, it sounds like we could have a Salvatore reunion within the first batch of episodes.

Castle: Scoop on the possibility of Castle and Beckett getting married in season 7 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams
Here's some scoop on Castle from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 8/29/14.
Anything you can share about Castle‘s wedding? — @Always_db03
Does the fact that the wedding will probably happen in season 7 count as “anything”? New showrunner David Amann hinted as much when he chatted with my colleague Samantha Highfill. “We understand there’s disappointment,” he said. “We’re committed to the Castle-Beckett relationship. Over the course of season 7, their relationship will continue to blossom and grow, and perhaps some of the things that people might have wanted to see in season 6 may present themselves a little bit later.” One suggestion: Hold the wedding somewhere within walking distance of both the bride and the groom.

Revenge: Jack related scoop on season 4 from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams
Here's some scoop on Revenge from Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams' The Spoiler Room column, which was posted on 8/29/14.
Got anything on Revenge? — Ciara
You may be asking yourself why Jack suddenly becomes friends with a cop (Client List’s Brian Hallisay) after finding himself on the wrong side of the law last season. That’s easy: Jack is actually putting on a badge. However, despite his new position, Charlotte has been unable to forgive him for his part in her kidnapping, which will put them at odds at the annual Memorial Day party. (Oh yes, the party is still happening, it’s just being hosted by someone else while Victoria is in the loony bin.)

Modern Family: Andrea Anders cast in a recurring guest-star role for season 6
According to Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams, Andrea Anders has been cast in a recurring guest-star role for Modern Family's upcoming sixth season. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on Anders' role:
Anders, who previously co-starred on ABC comedies Better Off Ted and Mr. Sunshine, will play Kim, the wife of the horrible family that moves in next door to the Dunphy clan. As previously announced, Treme’s Steve Zahn will play the husband, Ronnie.
Both will first appear in one of the early episodes of the upcoming sixth season.
Link to the full article:Andrea Anders returns to ABC on 'Modern Family' | Inside TV | EW.com
My thoughts: As I previously said in my post about Steve Zahn being cast as the husband of an obnoxious family that moves in next door to Phil and Claire (Steve Zahn cast in a recurring guest-star role), I feel like the writers have always been rather inconsistent when it comes to introducing good and genuinely funny recurring characters. That being said, I've seen Andrea Anders on a lot of TV shows over the years, and I've loved her on every TV show that I've ever seen her on, so I'm really excited that she'll be guest-starring on Modern Family next season.
I really do think that introducing some new neighbors for Phil and Claire has the potential to create some great opportunities for some very funny and entertaining storylines for the entire Dunphy family. While I'm definitely still feeling a little skeptical about the writers introducing a new family that will be guest-starring on Modern Family throughout the season, the announcement that Andrea Anders will be playing the wife of the family has gotten me a lot more excited about the whole idea.
Arrow: Nolan Funk to Guest-Star in Season 3
According to Entertainment Weekly's Natalie Abrams, Nolan Funk will be guest starring in an upcoming season 3 episode of Arrow. Funk first announced the news on Instagram where he posted a picture of himself with a script for an episode of Arrow. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on Funk's role:
Funk will play Cooper Seldon, Felicity’s hacker boyfriend from her days at MIT. It’s unclear whether Cooper will appear in flashback or present-day, but Funk will pop up in the highly aniticipated Felicity-centric episode, aptly titled “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak,” which will also introduce her mother, played by NYPD Blue alum Charlotte Ross.
Link to the full article:'Glee' alum Nolan Funk joins 'Arrow' | Inside TV | EW.com
My thoughts: I haven't watched Glee since season 2 ended and I've never watched Awkward, so I can't comment on Nolan Funk's acting. However, I'm still very excited about this news since it offers a little bit more information about the episode “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak,” which I'm really looking forward to. The main reason why I'm looking forward to this episode so much is because Felicity is one of my favorite characters on Arrow. Felicity has always intrigued me, so I'm really interested in learning more about Felicity's past. The writing for Arrow has always been phenomenal, and Emily Bett Rickards is a great actress, so I'm sure the episode will be fantastic. :)

Parenthood: Scoop on the Amber and Ryan storyline in season 5 from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich
Here's some scoop on Parenthood from this week's (Posted on 8/28/14) Matt's Inside Line column.
Now that NBC has shown Parenthood promos confirming that Amber is pregnant, do we know if Matt Lauria is returning as part of this storyline? – Ann
As previously scooped, Ryan will resurface in Episode 3– undoubtedly pleasing his portrayer. “I would absolutely love to return,” Lauria had told me while out promoting his DirecTV drama Kingdom (premiering Oct. 8). After all, he noted, the Amber/Ryan storyline “ended in an open way.” (I’ll say!) But maybe there’s a third party to worry about? Lauria’s Kingdom costar/fellow P’hood alum Jonathan Tucker playfully interjected with his theory that “Mayor Bob Little, now that a few years have passed, will be able to take back Amber” — and without a fight! Silly lad.

Any news on Resurrection‘s new season? –Sherryl
Asked to compare Season 2 to the show’s freshman run, series creator Aaron Zelman told me, “In Season 1, so much happens so quickly – it was eight or nine days – so it was very reactive. Whereas Season 2 is a bit more, ‘OK, this is the new reality — now how do we live with this? What does it mean that people can come back? And what does it mean that people who came back can disappear?’ What does it mean for doctors like Maggie to treat people who are terminal knowing maybe they’re not terminal? It throws everything on its head. You’re going to see a lot more characters dealing with that new reality.”

Can you give us any scoop on Once Upon a Time’s Regina, please? We need something to cheer us up! –Ana
Well, when I asked The Boys about the Regina/Robin Hood/Marian love triangle presumably on tap for Season 4, Adam Horowitz was quick to retort, “Who says we’re doing a love triangle?” He then explained, “Hopefully it becomes less about the relationship itself and more about Regina [and] open[s] the door to who she is and what she’s going to become.” (Anything further on the topic will have to wait for TVLine’s Fall Preview Spectacular, coming soon.)
Do you have any info on Belle’s mom on Once Upon a Time? –Natalie

Awkward: Matty related scoop on Eva's pregnancy in the second half of season 4 from E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos
Here's some scoop on Awkward from Kristin Dos Santos' Spoiler Chat column, which was posted on 8/27/14.
Tara: Is Matty's life going to be ruined by Eva's pregnancy on Awkward? Because she's legitimately a psycho.
I'm not arguing with you there. Even though Awkward executive producers Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini pretty much confirmed that she's really pregnant, I'm still holding onto hope that it's not Matty's kid. But it sounds like Matty is accepting the bad news like an adult and will be taking responsibility for the baby! "Matty's getting more mature and he's getting ready for fatherhood," Beau Mirchoff spilled. "But there are so many levels of drama, and he's going to be going through a lot." And BTW, when I asked Mirchoff, Brett Davern, Molly Tarlov and Jillian Rose Reed if Eva is faking the pregnancy, I was met with a collective, "Gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl," and then a bunch of giggles, so that's open for interpretation. So....HELP.

Adam: I still can't believe Meredith is the benefactor on Teen Wolf!
Yeah, neither can we. In fact, Teen Wolf star Arden Cho didn't even see that big twist coming all season long! "We were all making bets all season long trying to figure out who the benefactor is and we were all wrong," Cho tells me. "I thought that it was going to be Argent because he just lost his daughter, he's lost his entire family and things are going crazy so he might want to put an end to everything supernatural but clearly I was wrong." And if you think the benefector was the biggest reveal of the season, prepare yourself for one crazy finale. "There are some twists still coming," Cho teased. "People are going to cry. I mean. I can't pass up a chance to be amazing. Shoot for the stars, people! Sounds like Crowley better watch his back while he's out celebrating Dean's new demon status, since the younger Winchester is coming for him. "When Sam finds out that his brother is a demon and confronts him for the first time in episode three, it's intense," Jared Padalecki told me. "He doesn't know that he's a demon at the beginning of season 10. But when he finds out his brother isn't just missing, he's a demon, it doesn't piss him off. He doesn't think Dean did it on purpose or anything. He gets pissed off at Crowley instead." And nothing's scarier than a pissed-off Winchester hot on your trail! Well, only because you asked so nicely. "We'll find out!" Joe Morton said with a laugh when we accosted him (politely, of course!) for scoop. Who better to answer your question than OUAT's Kristoff himself? "I would say that I definitely put a little bit of my own take on it because the writing is different," Foster told me of his portrayal of the new Disney character. "It's not the original Frozen story. It's just different. I brought what I thought was right to it and I don't know if it's exactly like the original character. I would say that I definitely bring a little something else to it. I hope people enjoy it." We're pretty sure we will, Scott. And by pretty sure, we mean definitely.

"[The plots] will become more focused and more clear. There will be more group scenes, and we will see these various plot threads begin to dovetail more intensely as we approach the season finale."

Although it's great to see Unser flexing some of his old lawman muscle, there's at least a couple people who certainly don't want Unser digging around. In other words, he better watch his back.

Modern Family: Steve Zahn cast in a recurring guest-star role for season 6
According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, Steve Zahn has been cast in a recurring guest-star role for the upcoming sixth season of Modern Family. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on Zahn's role:
Steve Zahn (Treme, Mind Games) is joining Modern Family‘s upcoming sixth season in the recurring role of Ronnie, the patriarch of the new family that moves in next door to the Dunphys.
Word is Ronnie and his brood will be the neighbors from hell.
Link to the full article:Steve Zahn Joins ‘Modern Family’ Season 6 Cast — Dunphy’s New Neighbor | TVLine
My thoughts: I've seen Steve Zahn in a few things over the years, and I've always liked him. However, as great of a show as Modern Family is, I feel like the writers have always been rather inconsistent when it comes to introducing good and genuinely funny recurring characters on the show. For example, I love Phil's dad, Dylan, Cameron's parents, and Walt was a great character to feature on the show before the writers killed him off. There are also times when I absolutely love Andy. Although, for the record, there have also been times when I've thought that Andy was rather preachy and annoying too though. I've also never really liked Sal or Pepper all that much, but they have had their moments.
That being said, I'm hoping the "neighbors from hell" aspect of Ronnie and his family will be played for laughs and will be genuinely funny. I'm cautiously excited about this news, because I think the addition of Ronnie and his family to the show could potentially create some great storytelling opportunities for Phil, Claire and the rest of the Dunphy family and maybe even all of the other characters on the show as well.

Once Upon a Time: Henry related casting scoop and scoop on Elizabeth Mitchell's role in season 4 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello
Here's some scoop on Once Upon a Time from this week's (Posted on 8/19/14) Ask Ausiello column.
Question: Any scoop at all about the fourth season of Once Upon a Time? —Advanteege
Ausiello: Is Henry en route to having his first crush? (And if so, has he picked the wrong gal?) The ABC series in casting the recurring role of Lily, a bright, self-reliant teen who boasts a “charming, take-no-prisoners punk exterior and the heart of a secretive, insecure opportunist.” Watch for this lass to first appear in Episode 5.
Question: Elizabeth Mitchell in Once Upon a Time?? Tell me more! —Jacquelyn
Ausiello: You sound plenty excited by this casting — as are Lost scribes-turned-Once creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis. “She’s awesome, we love her, we’re so happy to have her and we can’t wait for the audience to discover who she is playing,” Horowitz teases. Perhaps she’s playing someone… eeeevil? Answers Kitsis with a healthy dollop of sarcasm, “We never bring Lost actors on our show to be villains, so….”

Castle: Scoop on the season 7 premiere from TVLine's Michael Ausiello
Here's some scoop on Castle from this week's (Posted on 8/19/14) Ask Ausiello column.
Question: We know that the season opener of Castle starts right where we left off in the finale, but is there a time jump after those first initial scenes? —Rachael
Ausiello: Yes, the Sept. 29 premiere features a time jump — and a rather significant one at that — but my lips are zipped about exactly when in the episode the clocks spring forward.
Question: I am dying to know the Castle Season 7 premiere title! —Sandra
Ausiello: The opener, which (per ABC) “promises to put Beckett through the toughest case of her career,” is titled… fittingly… “Driven.”

Scandal: Scoop on filming locations and scoop on Portia de Rossi's role in season 4 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello
Here's some scoop on Scandal from this week's (Posted on 8/19/14) Ask Ausiello column.
Question: Will Scandal have some scenes shot in Washington D.C. this upcoming season? —Kyle
Ausiello: If not this season then (likely) at some point in the show’s run. “I wish, I hope, I want to,” Shonda Rhimes tells me, adding that “budgets, budgets, budgets” are the No. 1 obstacle to taking the show on the road to the nation’s capitol. “It’s expensive to go there, for any production. But we’d like to. We hope to. We’re trying to save our pennies.”
Question: Any details on Portia de Rossi’s Scandal character? —Paul
Ausiello: I tried mightily to get Rhimes to spill the beans, but all she would divulge is that the Arrested Development vet is playing “a very formidable person.” Actually, that’s a pretty decent tease, considering how tight-lipped Rhimes can be. I’m putting that in the “win” column.

Revenge: Scoop on Brian Hallisay's role in season 4 from TVLine's Michael Ausiello
Here's some scoop on Revenge from this week's (Posted on 8/19/14) Ask Ausiello column.
Question: What can you tell me about Brian Hallisay’s character on Revenge? I’m still not over losing Aiden, and I can’t imagine Emily is ready to move on. — Kate
Ausiello: You’re right about one thing, Kate: Emily’s not ready to jump into a new relationship. But that doesn’t mean sparks won’t fly between Emily and Hallisay’s Ben. “In the scenes they’ve had together so far, they’ve had great energy,” showrunner Sunil Nayar says. “But we want to take our time with these things; Emily has so much she’s already dealing with, we don’t want to be casual about the next person she chooses to give her heart to. That said, there’s definitely an energy between them that we’re enjoying. We didn’t bring him on to be Emily’s love interest, but by the same token, we didn’t not bring him on for that.”

The Young and the Restless: Justin Hartley Is The New Adam Newman
According to TVGuide's Michael Logan, Justin Hartley is joining the cast of The Young and the Restless as a recast of the role of Adam Newman. The role of Adam Newman was previously played by Michael Muhney, who was fired from the show last December. Hartley will start filming for the show in late September and is currently scheduled to first appear on the show during November sweeps. Here's an excerpt from the article where Hartley talks about joining the show and his thoughts on working on a soap opera for the first time since he left Passions in 2006 in order to pursue a career in prime time TV.
"I'm so pumped about joining Y&R — I watch it all the time and can't wait to get in there and get my hands dirty!" says Hartley, who kicked off his career in 2002 with the daytime serial Passions. "I have great respect for daytime drama. I love the branding. I love the style. What can I say? I love good soap!"
And he doesn't see this Y&R gig as a step back. After a string of terrific performances in primetime — he was Green Arrow on Smallville, Victoria Craig's illegit gay son Patrick on Revenge, and Scott, the kinky plastic surgeon on Mistresses — Hartley says, "It's all about story and character with me and I don't care if the job is on daytime or primetime or the web. Hey, give me a good character and someone to listen and I'll do my acting on a street corner."
Hartley says he met with Y&R exec producer Jill Farren Phelps and CBS Daytime czarina Angelica McDaniel to talk about the Adam role and "came away feeling very excited. The powers that be are smart, lovely people with kind hearts. It'll be wonderful going to work knowing I'm really wanted." Bonus perk: The L.A.-based job keeps Hartley near 10-year-old Isabella, his daughter from his former marriage to actress Lindsay Hartley.
Truth be told, he is a little nervous. "Y&R is the No. 1 show and the acting company is exceptional," Hartley says. "There's no period of adjustment with these people and that's daunting. I don't just have to be fantastic, I have to be fantastic right now!"
Link to the full article:Exclusive: Justin Hartley Joins The Young and the Restless - Today's News: Our Take | TVGuide.com
My thoughts: Now that Justin Hartley has joined the cast as a recast of Adam Newman, I think I’m going to have to start watching The Young and The Restless. I’ve been a huge fan of Justin’s ever since he joined the cast of Passions back in 2002, and I’ve loved him on every show that I’ve seen him on since he left Passions in 2006, especially Revenge. Justin Hartley joining the cast wouldn’t be the only reason why I’m interested in watching The Young and The Restless though.
I’m also a huge fan of Melissa Claire Egan and Steve Burton. I’ve watched some of their scenes from the show on YouTube, and I’ve always been very intrigued by their characters, especially Chelsea. Plus, I loved Eileen Davidson on Days of Our Lives, and I would love to see her on The Young and The Restless. All in all, I’m thrilled that Justin Hartley has joined the cast of The Young and The Restless, and I’m seriously considering watching The Young and The Restless now. :)

Revenge: Nestor Serrano Cast in a Recurring Guest-Star Role for Season 4
According to TVLine's Andy Swift, Nestor Serrano has been cast in a recurring guest-star role for the upcoming fourth season of Revenge. Here's an excerpt from the article, which gives some details on Serrano's role:
Nestor Serrano (Graceland) has been tapped to recur as Edward Alvarez, a “commanding and perceptive police chief” who’s (surprisingly) in Victoria’s corner, TVLine has learned exclusively.
“We’re just starting to explore his character right now,” executive producer Sunil Nayar tells us. “He’s a friend of Victoria’s on the force who really has her back at a time when she needs someone to have her back. We’re not sure exactly where we’re headed with the character, but we like the idea of her having an ally in a position of an authority.”
Link to the full article:‘Revenge’ Season 4 Spoilers — Nestor Serrano Cast As Victoria’s Friend | TVLine
My thoughts: I really liked Nestor Serrano when he guest-starred on 90210, so I'm definitely kind of excited that he'll be guest-starring on Revenge. His character sounds really interesting to me, especially since it sounds like he'll primarily be interacting with Victoria. Personally, I won't be very surprised if his character ultimately ends up having some kind of secret agenda where he's secretly scheming against Victoria, while he pretends to be Victoria's friend.
Personally, I find the fact that Sunil Nayar and the other writers for Revenge still aren't completely sure where things are going to go with Serrano's character a little concerning. I understand that there are a lot of factors that go into writing for a TV show that can ultimately influence storylines, such as an actor's availability, or the writers sometimes think that the writing takes on a life of its own, causing the story to go in a direction that was different from what the writers had originally planned. However, whenever I've read an article or an interview that Sunil Nayar has done about the show, I feel like Nayar is almost always not completely sure about where the show is going, and that hasn't always filled me with a lot of confidence when it comes to his work as showrunner and executive producer for Revenge. I'll try my best to keep an open mind and have faith that things will turn out well when it comes to the writing for Nestor Serrano's character and his portrayal of the character though.
That being said, I'm very excited for season 4 to start. While I don't think the show is as good as it was back in season one, nor do I think it will ever be that good ever again, I loved the season 3 episodes that I've seen at this point in time. The season 3 episodes that I've watched definitely left me thinking that season 3 was a significant improvement over season 2. Based on all of the other spoilers and casting news that's been announced so far, it sounds like season 4 could potentially be a great season, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
