Bookstagram: A tribute to my love of book maps and Kendare Blake's Three Dark Crowns series

While I'm definitely not one of the most talented bookstagramers on Instagram, I still wanted to do a fun bookstagram post highlighting my love of book maps, and Kendare Blake's Three Dark Crowns series; especially since I've been thinking about the series a lot lately. 😀

Bookstagram Post: I've always been a "mood reader", and I want to read Katharine McGee's The Thousandth Floor trilogy!

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always described myself as being a “mood reader” in the sense that I typically decide what I want to read on a bit of whim instead of making a somewhat long term T.B.R., and last week I rather randomly found myself being in the mood to read @katharinemcgee’s The Thousandth Floor trilogy. I read the first book, which is also called The Thousandth Floor, last year. I absolutely loved it, because it had a major Gossip Girl vibe to it, and Gossip Girl is one of my favorite guilty pleasure TV shows. Coincidentally, Gossip Girl is the main thing that inspired me to start my blog before I started blogging about books instead of TV shows. Unfortunately, I still haven’t gotten around to reading The Dazzling Heights and The Towering Sky, and that’s something that has really been bothering me more and more lately. Since I’m also currently low key obsessed with @victoriaaveyard’s Red Queen series; I’m thinking that I’ll alternate between reading books two, three, and four of the Red Queen series, plus the Red Queen novella, and reading and reviewing The Thousandth Floor trilogy. Both The Thousandth Floor, and Red Queen were excellent starts to their respective series, and I would love to finish reading both of those series. My September @owlcrate box came today, and I love it! I’ve really been in the mood to read a lot of fantasy books for the past several months, so I’m super excited to read the August book of the month, Mirage by @somaiiiya. I plot of Mirage sounds really cool. 😀 As for the items that were included in this month’s box, my favorite item is definitely the Harry Potter mug. The picture on the mug is beyond cool! Even though I usually take showers, I’m really excited to try the Nemesis foaming bath soak, which was made by @leeloosoap. 😀 I’m also excited try the lip balm that was inspired by The Kiss of Deception. 😀 I don’t know how much I’ll actually use them, but I also really love the fingerless gloves. 😀 Even though I still need to read @veschwab’s Shades of Magic trilogy, I also love the art print of Lila Bird. Bookstagram: A Box set Purchase

Here's a picture of the box set of Jenny Han's To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy that I bought, which came in the mail last week.

My box set of @jennyhan’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy came in the mail earlier in the week! 😀 I’ve always had VERY mixed feelings about the YA romance genre that go all the way back to when I was a teenager, but I’ve heard a lot of really great things about this series, and I think it sounds like a really fun series to read and review for my blog; especially since the romance genre is definitely my favorite genre of books to write reviews for. I know that I’m probably not the target audience for the romance genre since I’m a guy, but I really do have a lot of fun reading books that are a part of the romance genre, and writing reviews for romance genre makes the genre even more enjoyable for me to read than it has already always been to begin with. OwlCrate Unboxing: May 2018 (Fight Like A Girl)

Here's what was included in my May 2018 OwlCrate box, which came in the mail today. The theme for March's box is "Fight Like A Girl".

My May @owlcrate box came today, and I absolutely love, love, love it! I’ve always really enjoyed stories that involve strong female protagonists, so I’m very excited to read Sky in the Deep by @adrienneyoungbooks. As weird and random as this might sound, after reading the plot synopsis for Sky in the Deep that’s on the cover, I’ve decided to include Sky in the Deep in my dysfunctional families themed TBR for June, which is something that I’ve been planning for months. I honestly love all of items that they’ve included in this month’s box, but my favorite item is definitely the copy of Catching Stars by @caylakeenan1. It also sounds like a really interesting book, so I’m very excited to read it as well. Based on the picture that’s on the side of the container, I think the wall hanging looks really cool. Most of the time, I don’t get too excited about the art prints that are included in OwlCrate boxes, but I really love the Six of Crows art print. It’s definitely my favorite out of all the art prints that I’ve received in OwlCrate boxes. 😀 I love both of the pins that were included in this month’s box, but I especially love the Hermione Granger themed pin. 😀 I also love the Wrath and the Dawn/Flame in the Mist tassel bookmark. 😀 All in all, this is definitely an especially fun and awesome OwlCrate box. #owlcrate #owlcrateunboxing #bookstagram #bookhaul #bookaholic #bookaddict #bookblogger #bookblog #skyinthedeep #adrienneyoung #harrypotter #acourtofthornsandroses #sixofcrows #flameinthemist #thewrathandthedawn #reneeahdieh #thechildrenofbloodandbone

Bookstagram: My Very Ambitious May TBR

Here are almost all of the books that I’ve selected for my May TBR. (Neal Asher’s new book, The Soldier, doesn’t come out until May 15th.) @therealsjmaas’ new book, A Court of Frost and Starlight is going to be the first book that I’m going to read this month. @amandafoody’s book, Ace of Shades, is going to be the second book I’m going to read this month. I want to read it before @owlcrate’s OwlBabble with Amanda Foody. I’d like to read the first two books in @genashowalter’s Everlife trilogy back-to-back, but that might change depending on how close to the 15th it is by the time I finish reading Firstlife; I’m really hoping to read The Soldier this month. I would also really like to read @stephanie_garber’s Caraval again this month since the sequel, Legendary, is going to be released at the end of the month. I’m not quite sure where I’m going to fit @tessa.gratton’s book, The Queens of Innis Lear, into my reading plans this month, yet, but I’m really excited to read it. I’m also really excited FINALLY read @vanessafewings’ book, The Chase. 😀 I haven’t read the rest of @aleatharomig’s Infidelity series yet, but I’m really excited read Respect.
